The innovative Smart Home exhibition »let´s be smart - future of intelligent
homes« will take place for the third year in a row at imm cologne, the
international interiors show, from 15 to 21 January 2018.
Cologne, 13 December 2017. Featuring a complete Smart Home installation, the
pioneering exhibition organised by the »let’s be smart« network covers almost
1,000 square metres and is located in Hall 4.2 (Pure Architects). Visitors can step
inside and experience products in action from over 30 manufacturers in a range of
everyday situations. Geared towards the different stages in life, the Smart Home
showcases an apartment designed for several family generations, an integrated
home office and a microliving apartment.
Rather than simply focussing on the technical aspects, the exhibition highlights the
positive impact that smart homes can have on our living environment. Offering
much more than just app-controlled technology, »let’s be smart« presents crosssystem
solutions that directly enhance daily life with regard to design, usability
and the environment. During a series of scheduled tours, visitors can discover for
example how accessible living can be improved by voice-activated technology –
this year’s leading trend.
In addition to renowned German companies such as Miele, Nolte, Rehau and
Clage, groundbreaking international start-up projects, Samsung and the eMobility
pioneer Tesla have also contributed to the Smart Home installation.
A daily symposium featuring professionals from a wide range of industries and
research fields will accompany the exhibition. The speakers will be providing
insights into their work and discussing their strategies in the smart home segment.
Participants can look forward to presentations by institutions such as the
Fraunhofer Institute, Dr Sascha Peters (Haute Innovation) on the subject of smart
materials and TüV Nord on the topic of safety.
The online portal www.letsbesmart.de provides detailed reports on the solutions
