Visitors were enthusiastic about the wide-ranging programme and the enormous selection of products and services provided by the more than 1,900 exhibitors in the 17 halls on the exhibition site. The international water sports community was delighted by nine unique days in Düsseldorf with a mix of stimulating networking, successful business and memorable experiences.

Best atmosphere in 17 exhibition halls The next summer (-vacation) will surely come At the halfway point of the fair, boot Düsseldorf 2020 is fully on course. CEO Werner Matthias Dornscheidt: "We are riding on a real wave of success. The atmosphere in the 17 boot halls is excellent.” Boats, sailing and super yachts will delight visitors in Halls 1 to 6 and 15 to 17, while hands-on activities such as surfing, SUP (both in Hall 8a), diving (Halls 11 and 12), paddling (Hall 14) and sailing (Hall 15) will be major attractions for the young and young-at-heart. By the middle of the week, halfway through the boot, 125,000 water sports enthusiasts had already streamed into the Düsseldorf exhibition halls. There, in the middle of winter, the best summer holiday mood prevails. Water sports destinations from all over the world invite you to dream and also to make concrete holiday bookings at the Travel World in Hall 13.

Boris Herrmann holds laudation for project to train Melanesian women for marine protection

The presentation of the third "ocean tribute" Award was celebrated with a (ocean) roaring party on the evening of 20 January at the blue motion night in Hall 6. The "Sea Women of Melanesia" were delighted to win this year's award, which is endowed with 20,000 euros - provided by the Prince Albert II Foundation and boot Düsseldorf.

A foggy day on Fischerstraße in Düsseldorf in November 1969: boot Düsseldorf’s success story of the boot is about to begin. Over the course of six exhibition days, 34,000 visitors flock into the hall and boot is launched. Trade fair manager Kurt Schoop landed a real coup by getting experienced boat journalist Horst Schlichting on board and founding the first inland boat trade fair.
