9th German-African Healthcare Forum to Foster Collaboration and Innovation in African Healthcare

FRANKFURT, GERMANY – June 13, 2024 – The upcoming 9th German-African Healthcare Forum (GAHF24), organized by the German Health Alliance (GHA) and Afrika-Verein, is set to take place on June 19th in Frankfurt. The one-day conference will bring together key stakeholders from both the public and private sectors to discuss and address the pressing challenges facing healthcare in Africa.

The forum will focus on strengthening partnerships, fostering innovation, and exploring new avenues for investment in the African healthcare sector. With a diverse range of speakers and panelists, including government officials, industry leaders, healthcare professionals, and representatives from international organizations, GAHF24 will provide a platform for in-depth discussions and knowledge exchange on critical topics such as:

  • Strengthening Health Systems: Exploring innovative strategies to improve healthcare delivery, infrastructure, and workforce development in Africa.
  • Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs): Addressing the growing burden of NCDs in Africa through improved diagnostics, treatment, and prevention efforts.
  • Women and Child Health: Focusing on the unique healthcare needs of women and children in Africa and exploring ways to improve maternal and child health outcomes.
  • Healthcare Infrastructure, Skills Development, and Digitalization: Examining the role of public-private partnerships in addressing resource shortages, improving healthcare infrastructure, and leveraging digital technologies to enhance healthcare delivery.
  • Medicines: Discussing the pharmaceutical sector's potential in Africa, including biotechnology, generic drugs, and vaccine development.
  • Financing and Investing in Healthcare Projects: Exploring effective strategies for healthcare financing and investment, including the role of regulatory frameworks and incentives for private sector involvement.

GAHF24 will also feature parallel panel discussions, networking opportunities, and B2B meetings, providing participants with valuable opportunities to connect, collaborate, and forge new partnerships. Additionally, site visits to Hospital Nordwest, Wingcopter, and SANOFI will be offered to interested participants on June 20th and 21st.
