New York – September 18, 2026 -- Hublot and artist Jeff Koons have launched a joint collection anchored by the MP-14 Origin, a $limited-edition 30-piece watch built to mechanically evoke the birth of the universe, alongside a second model called the Classic Fusion Balloon Dog.
The MP-14 Origin introduces Hublot's first automatic central tourbillon, a technical first for the manufacture, housed inside a 44mm octagonal case made of sapphire and titanium.
The sapphire case alone takes 534 hours to machine
The transparent octagonal box is paired with a titanium case back and Hublot's signature "ears" at 3 and 9 o'clock. Beneath a sapphire dome coated by hand in translucent blue varnish, concentric white-gold rings set with baguette-cut diamonds and blue sapphires form orbital layers converging on the hidden central tourbillon.
202 gemstones simulate a celestial orbit
Two rotating rings display hours and minutes via floating cube indicators, one in red-varnished polished steel, the other in grey polished steel, while two fixed rings marked with blue sapphires indicate quarters and hours. In total, four rings carry 202 stones weighing approximately 2.6 carats.
The HUB9014 movement runs on 594 components
At the core sits the manufacture's HUB9014 caliber, beating at 3 Hz (21,600 vph) with a 60-hour power reserve. A peripheral oscillating mass replaces conventional central winding, keeping the mechanism visually open and balanced. Winding and time-setting are handled through two concealed crown systems, engraved "ENERGY PULSE" and "COSMIC ALIGN."
Jeff Koons ties the design to his own career milestone
The MP-14 designation references the number 14, tied to Koons' first solo exhibition in 1980 at New York's New Museum, then located at 65 Fifth Avenue at 14th Street. Koons described the piece as translating "the moment where energy becomes form and form becomes time" through the tourbillon's motion.
Hublot CEO Julien Tornare said the collaboration pairs two entities that have each been "deconstructing" their respective fields since 1980, referencing both Koons' artistic career and Hublot's founding year.
Buyers get a ten-year warranty and a mirrored display case
Each MP-14 Origin ships with Hublot's 5+5 warranty program, extending coverage up to ten years. The accompanying presentation case uses LED lighting and a one-way mirror technique to create an illusion of infinite depth, echoing the watch's octagonal geometry with its own transparent dome.
Limited to 30 pieces, the MP-14 Origin by Jeff Koons is available at select Hublot points of sale.
