Humble – September 20, 2026 -- The U.S. Postal Service has released Winter Wreath, a new Global Forever stamp that covers postage for a 1-ounce letter mailed to any country served by First-Class Mail International. The stamp was issued without a ceremony in Humble, Texas.
The design swaps traditional red and green for a softer palette
USPS art director Greg Breeding said two of the three previous Global holiday stamps featured wreaths heavy on red and green. For 2026, he aimed for a different mood using gentler wintertime colors, while still working within the wreath's round shape -- a format he called an interesting design challenge for fitting objects into a circular frame.
The wreath was built from craft-store materials, not real greenery
Photographer Natalia Kostikova created the wreath in 2023 using artificial branches and craft-store supplies. She hand-painted the ornaments and sprayed the piece with baking soda to mimic a dusting of snow.
The stamp holds its value no matter how postage rates change
As a Global Forever stamp, Winter Wreath will always match the current single-piece First-Class Mail International 1-ounce rate, even if that price rises after purchase. It is sold in panes of 10.
Customers can buy the stamp through The Postal Store at usps.com, by phone at 844-737-7826, through USA Philatelic by mail, or at Post Office locations nationwide. USPS is sharing news of the release under the hashtag #WinterWreathStamp.
