Lavazza Brings Buffalo Milk Lattes to Hong Kong's Coffee Scene

Lavazza Brings Buffalo Milk Lattes to Hong Kong's Coffee Scene

Hong Kong – October 16, 2026 -- Coffee drinkers in Hong Kong can now order a Buffalo Milk Latte, hot or iced, at all five local Lavazza stores, and a Liquid Tiramisu drink is on the way. Lavazza says it is the first chain coffee brand in the city to serve buffalo milk drinks.

Five stores in under a year, around 10 planned

Lavazza opened its first Hong Kong store in Central last November. It has since grown to five locations, mostly in premium office towers and shopping destinations in Central and Causeway Bay. The company plans to double that to around 10 stores in the coming months.

The newest store, at Cheung Kong Center II, features an installation of the Lavazza Carmencita moka pot. Italian designer Marco Zanuso created the pot for Lavazza in 1979, and it is known for its conical shape and heat-resistant handle.

Buffalo milk replaces regular milk in the signature latte

The Buffalo Milk Latte combines natural buffalo milk with espresso made from Lavazza's premium beans. Lavazza says buffalo milk has a richer dairy aroma and a naturally sweet, ice cream-like smoothness, so the drink needs no added sugar.

The drink is one of the brand's best sellers in Mainland China, where 2025 sales exceeded 1.2 million cups.

Allegra Armitano, Chief Marketing Officer of the Lavazza-Yum China joint venture, described Hong Kong as a mature coffee market where consumers value quality, flavor and brand experience.

Pistachio lattes and juice Americanos fill out the menu

Beyond the signature latte, the stores serve Espresso and Cappuccino, plus the Sicilian Pistachio Oat Milk Latte, Apple Juice Americano and Orange Juice Americano. Desserts, sandwiches and baked goods are also on offer.

Liquid Tiramisu and Bicerin are coming in the next months

Lavazza will launch two more beverages in the coming months. The Bicerin series returns after first appearing last Christmas season. It is a traditional hot drink from Turin made with layers of espresso, cocoa and cream.

Liquid Tiramisu will debut in the Hong Kong stores. It turns the flavors of the Italian dessert into a drink with a creamy texture and layered taste. Lavazza says it plans to expand its Hong Kong menu further as the business grows.
