September 18, 2026 – Appleton, WI – -- Natural Grocers is opening a new store in Appleton, Wisconsin, on Sept. 30, giving the first 150 customers mystery gift cards worth $5 to $500 and the first 500 shoppers a free hand-crafted Ecuadorian drawstring backpack normally valued at $30.
The good4u Crew will kick off the day at 8:15 a.m. with a $2,500 donation to Feeding America Eastern Wisconsin, followed by a ribbon-cutting with the Fox City Chamber. Doors open at 8:27 a.m.
A prize wheel and sweepstakes run through mid-October
Shoppers can spin a prize wheel between noon and 5 p.m. on opening day. From Sept. 30 through Oct. 14, customers can enter a sweepstakes for prizes including a $1,400 Aventon e-bike and a $500 Natural Grocers gift card, with entry forms available in-store.
Discounts on organic staples last through October
From Sept. 30 to Oct. 31, the store offers up to 50% off items such as USDA-certified organic Gala apples ($1.69/lb), Natural Grocers brand organic cheese shreds and slices ($2.99 each), bacon and bacon alternatives ($2.99/package), GT's Synergy Kombucha ($2.79/16 oz) and Painterland Sisters organic skyr yogurt ($1.99 each). Members of the free {N}power rewards program get additional pricing on items like free-range eggs ($2.99/dozen, limit two), Kerrygold Irish butter sticks ($4.99/8 oz) and Zevia zero-sugar sodas ($4.99/6-pack).
The store donates for reusable bags
Natural Grocers will donate five cents to Feeding America Eastern Wisconsin for every shopping trip where customers use their own reusable bags, part of the retailer's Bring Your Own Bag program. Feeding America Eastern Wisconsin operates food banks in Milwaukee and Appleton and works with nearly 600 pantry partners across 35 counties.
