30 Years of EMIX in food industry

EMIX was founded in 1991 in Poland and has been present in polish food sector ever since. This family business was developed by Stanislaw Pacek based on values such as trust, honesty, credibility and sustainability. The first product of the company was ice cream powder for ice cream machines which outlined the major points of the business idea. The main branch of production is powdered dessert mixes. Moreover, the company's offer includes a wide range of confectionery additives and packed products such as dried fruit, grains, cocoa powder, and instants. EMIX is represented by 200 different products. In 2003, the company implemented the HACCP system, which ensures food safety in the production process. The IFS Food Safety Standard was implemented in 2010. Since then, it has been certified annually. 

The company manufactures and sells retail and wholesale. The majority of the company's sales is in the domestic market through various distribution channels (traditional channel, modern channel, B2B sales). EMIX has numerous assortments in the HoReCa segment and it has a dominant position on the polish market in sales of powdered waffles for gastronomic premises. From one year to another the company is reporting growths of international trades. “The share of exports in the company’s sales increases significantly, it will be one of the main directions of our development” comments Vice President Aleksander Kaleta. Our export department has been operating dynamically for over 10 years, opening sales to many countries. We have trading partners in Saudi Arabia, Scandinavia, Central and Eastern Europe. We also carry out shipments to the United States and Africa. 

We put an effort into presenting up-to-date products, which satisfy market requirements. Market is changing dynamically, the way of people’s life is changing and also the preferences and choices of consumers are changing. “We would like to offer a wide range of high-quality products for consumers who are struggling with restrictions in their diets wherever by choice or by health issues”, says Kaleta “And observing market trends - in the future - we are planning to expand the offer of BIO-certified, gluten-free and vegan-friendly products.” According to this the company will invest over 5.5 million PLN in the expansion of existing enterprise in Rusinowo in Poland. The investment will be conducted as part of the Polish Investment Zone. 

We are constantly developing and improving processes and product quality. The company has its own technology and quality control department, which develops new recipes and supervises the quality of existing products. We focus on research, development and conscious data analysis. We are taking on new challenges, one of them is cooperation with the Polish Academy of Science in Olsztyn to introduce to the market 4 new products with additives constituting a source of substances with pro-health properties. We would like to share our conclusions internally and internationally.

EMIX is a people oriented company. Experienced and responsible personnel are the strongholds of the company that give it a high-ranking position in the branch. Honesty and solidity guide our conduct towards our purchasers, raw material suppliers and other service companies. The above-mentioned features create a company’s image, which builds a good reputation in the region. Our strategy takes into account social interests and environmental protection. In the area of packaging, we try to use one-component materials that are recyclable. We monitor the situation on the packaging market on an ongoing basis and we are looking for solutions suitable for the food industry and environmentally friendly. Our company is fully covered by waste segregation, we are in process of installing photovoltaic panels and we have invested in modern, energy-saving LED lighting. 

Company’s motto of gradual development is that the rate of production and the sales capacity make progress proportionally. It gives a sense of security while functioning in different situations of market changes.

EMIX product development in collaboration with Academy of Science EMIX is a Polish family business that has been developing organically since 1991. Over the past 30 years, the company has smoothly increased its share in the Polish market and started its export development. As the enterprise grows, so does employment, resources, space, structure, and the processes have expanded in complexity. Market demand and technological development initiated the development of the R&D department in the company. What is more, the company cooperates with external research centers in order to introduce innovative products to the market that can have a positive impact on the condition of the human body. Strong pro-health trends have a significant impact on the development of the healthy food market. The functional food market, with documented positive effects on the body, is developing rapidly (an increase of 67% in the last 5 years). The trend of taking care of health makes consumers pay attention to the composition of products. More and more consumers are excluding meat from their diets. The market is looking for solutions, products that will be healthy, ecological and quick to prepare. Immunity-boosting properties are also important. EMIX has partnered with Polish Academy of Science in Olsztyn, increasing research activity in the region. The project includes conducting R&D works in order to achieve innovative solutions. The test includes mixtures with additives that are a source of biologically active substances that have health-promoting properties for the body and stimulate immunity. The company’s response to the growing needs of consumers is a new line of EMIX products - mixes that will be a balanced meal, being a good source of nutrients, vitamins and active biological compounds (e.g. antioxidants).
