EltaMD Launches Dermatologist-Only Post-Procedure Skincare System

New York – – October 14, 2026 -- EltaMD has launched Rapid Recovery Serum and Rapid Recovery Cream, a two-product system for skin after lasers and microneedling that is sold only through participating skin health professionals. Patients need to ask their provider whether it is available.

Two products are built around amino acids and EGF

Both formulas use EltaMD's Amino Acid Restore Complex, developed over more than 15 years of research, plus an EGF (epidermal growth factor) Tripeptide blend. The brand says they support the skin's natural repair process and feel lightweight rather than greasy.

The serum contains 3% Amino Acid Restore Complex and 1% EGF Tripeptide, along with hyaluronic acid, allantoin and cica. The cream contains 2.5% Amino Acid Restore Complex, 0.5% EGF Tripeptide, a 2% lipid blend, ceramides, allantoin and cucumber extract.

Company-reported studies show redness and hydration gains

In a 12-week study of 33 subjects with sensitive skin, the serum neutralized visible redness in 15 minutes. It also improved skin laxity by 14.5%, elasticity by 11% and tightness by 19%.

After RF microneedling (Morpheus8, 2mm), a 4-week split-face assessment of 15 subjects found the serum reduced skin temperature by 6%. It also improved the look of pinpoint bleeding and sped barrier recovery.

For the cream, an 8-week study of 31 sensitive-skin subjects found that a single application delivered 41% less dryness, 36% better radiance and 20% better hydration. After fractional laser treatment (Clear + Brilliant), all 15 participants in a 2-week split-face assessment said skin felt smoother, looked more radiant and more even-toned, and appeared noticeably improved.

A four-step routine ends with a green-tinted SPF 50

EltaMD pairs the products in a Recovery & Regenerate protocol:

  • Skin Recovery Amino Acid Cleanser
  • Rapid Recovery Serum
  • Rapid Recovery Cream
  • UV Skin Recovery Green Tint Broad-Spectrum SPF 50, which neutralizes redness and protects against UV rays

The company aims to turn post-procedure care into an everyday skin routine rather than a short-term recovery step.

Demand for procedures is rising

The American Society for Dermatologic Surgery's 2025 Consumer Survey found that 70% of consumers are considering a cosmetic procedure. Dr. Annie Woo of Colgate-Palmolive Skin Health Group said the system was designed with dermatologists to bridge recovery and daily skincare, and to keep working after the recovery window ends.

Dermatologist Melanie D. Palm, MD, founder of Art of Skin MD in Solana Beach, California, said patients need products that cool and calm skin quickly without feeling heavy or irritating after lasers or microneedling.
