Dickinson family has made witch hazel since 1866
Dickinson Brands Inc. created National Witch Hazel Day in 2021. The company's link to the ingredient dates to 1866, when the Dickinson family began producing witch hazel in Connecticut. Today the witch hazel is harvested in New England. The company says it ends up in medicine cabinets, gym bags, postpartum care kits, camping backpacks, school nurse supplies and skincare routines.
Company president Bryan Jackowitz said the ingredient is central to the company's identity and noted that dormant plants are selectively harvested in autumn after the leaves fall.

Dickinson's Original works with creators
