SHERIDAN, WYOMING – October 16, 2024 – The 12th MEDICA MEDICINE + SPORTS CONFERENCE, a key component of the world's leading medical technology trade fair, MEDICA, will delve into the fascinating realm of longevity research. This two-day international sports medicine conference, held on November 13th and 14th in Düsseldorf, will bring together experts from various fields to discuss innovative approaches to prevention, performance medicine, regeneration, and rehabilitation in sports.

Dr. Graumann will discuss how lifestyle choices impact biological age and explore multidimensional approaches to measuring it. The conference will also shed light on the crucial role of sleep in health, featuring insights from Dr. Alen Juginovic of Harvard Medical School, whose research highlights sleep's impact on cognitive function, immune response, and chronic illness prevention.  

Training, Inflammation, and the Brain

The conference will examine the effects of various training regimens and delve into epigenetics, the study of how natural changes in DNA can influence gene activity and the long-term effects of physical activity. The anti-inflammatory effects of exercise and the role of nutritional supplements will also be explored, with experts like Dr. Moritz Völker-Albert and Dr. Wouter Vints presenting their findings.  

The Future of Competitive Sport

The conference will also address the future of sports performance, injury prevention, and the growing influence of technology in sports. Eric Leidersdorf, Director of Biomechanics at the Californian "P3" project, will share insights into their innovative performance measurement technology.  

Big Data and AI in Sports

The use of big data and artificial intelligence in optimizing training and performance will be a key focus, with experts like Professor Yael Nets and Professor Patrick Wahl discussing the potential of digital twins and wearable devices.
