Bedford, Mass. – September 07, 2026 -- iRobot has launched the Roomba Max 875 Combo Robot + AutoWash Dock, its most advanced vacuum-mop hybrid yet, priced at £1,099 and available now at irobot.com.
SealForce technology seals against carpet fibers for deeper suction
The robot's headline feature, patented SealForce Vacuuming Technology, lowers a skirt from the chassis to create an airtight seal against carpet fibers, concentrating a 20 L/s tornado-style airflow and 35,000 Pa of suction directly where dirt hides. iRobot says this delivers three times deeper carpet cleaning compared to vacuuming without SealForce. Adam Pope, iRobot's VP and chief engineer, said the sealing mechanism -- not just raw power -- is what pushes cleaning performance to a new level, since it stops airflow from escaping around the edges.
ThermaMist and a larger roller mop tackle dried spills
For mopping, the ultrasonic ThermaMist Technology continuously sprays hot mist to soften dried spills, claiming twice the stain removal of mopping without it. The new PowerSpin Max Roller Mop is 44% larger than a standard roller, spins at 300 RPM -- 2.5 times faster than iRobot's previous Roomba Max 775 -- and applies 18 Newtons of downward pressure, for a claimed 3.75 times deeper clean.
AI-driven DriLift shield keeps carpets dry during mopping
Patented DriLift Technology uses AI to detect carpets automatically, lifting the roller and lowering a protective shield to keep carpeted areas dry throughout the cleaning cycle.
The AutoWash Dock handles maintenance for up to 90 days
The dock washes the roller with 80°C hot water, dries it with 55°C hot air, dispenses StayClean cleaning concentrate, and empties debris into an AllergenLock carbon waste bag, enabling hands-free maintenance for up to 90 days between manual servicing.
Navigation and edge-cleaning round out the feature set
A dual-line ClearView Pro LiDAR system handles room-to-room navigation, while PrecisionVision AI recognizes and avoids more than 300 common household objects. The PerfectEdge system extends the roller up to 45mm along walls and baseboards, and a dual anti-tangle brush system targets pet hair and long strands. At 9.98cm thick, the robot fits under low furniture and climbs thresholds up to 3.5cm. The companion Roomba Home app lets users set cleaning schedules, select specific rooms, prioritize pet zones, and issue voice commands through Alexa, Siri, or Google Assistant-compatible devices.
Jennifer Lichtenheim, iRobot's senior VP and general manager for the Americas, said the company has sold more than 50 million robots since introducing the Roomba in 2002 and built the Max 875 Combo to address cleaning problems consumers had specifically flagged.
