Sheridan – October 16, 2026 -- The YiHouse Doublethick washable rug measures about 0.46 inches thick, compared with roughly 0.22 inches for standard washable rugs, and the entire one-piece rug fits in a household washing machine. YiHouse has launched YiHouse.com to sell the collection to U.S. consumers. The rugs are already available on Amazon.
Thin washable rugs prompted the redesign
YiHouse says it reviewed publicly available consumer feedback and repeatedly found complaints about thin construction, limited cushioning and a lack of softness. Some reviewers compared competing washable rugs to a bed sheet laid on the floor.
A multilayer build is meant to survive the washer
The Doublethick uses a multilayer construction with high-density fibers and specialized finishing. According to YiHouse, the one-piece design removes the delamination risk common in layered rugs. The rug is engineered to keep its plushness and structural integrity through repeated washing.
Jasper, CEO of YiHouse, said the rugs were designed for "barefoot mornings, playtime with kids, and quiet afternoons with a pet." The company lists the rug as suitable for barefoot use, sitting and play.
Amazon shoppers describe a soft feel
Since the product's introduction, Amazon reviewers have called the design pretty and the rug soft underfoot. One reviewer said their kids love it.
The collection is sold through YiHouse.com and the YiHouse Amazon Store. Designs, sizes, prices and care instructions are listed on each sales channel.
