SHERIDAN, WYOMING – July 13, 2025 – Outdoor living brand Dometic has premiered its newest documentary, A Silent Rebellion, in Australia, offering a stirring look into climate action through the eyes of an adventurous father-son duo. The film debuted globally on Saturday, May 3, during ExplorerFest, a three-day celebration of adventure and sustainability in Hawks Nest, New South Wales.
A Silent Rebellion marks the latest chapter in Dometic’s Project Zero Earth – a bold, multi-year expedition led by polar explorer Dr. Geoff Wilson and his son, filmmaker Kitalé Wilson. Documenting their dramatic North-South crossing of Iceland, the film blends gripping adventure with heartfelt storytelling about the planet’s changing climate.
A Journey of Courage, Connection, and Climate Advocacy
The Icelandic expedition is the fourth major adventure the Wilsons have undertaken together, reflecting their deep commitment to raising environmental awareness. Starting on horseback through Iceland’s northern hills and valleys, the duo transitioned into skiing and kiting across the massive, fast-receding Vatnajökull Glacier. They eventually descended to Iceland’s rugged southern coast, showcasing a landscape both awe-inspiring and deeply affected by global warming.
“This isn’t just a film about exploration, it’s about shining a light on climate challenges,” said Dr. Geoff Wilson. “A Silent Rebellion is our protest in motion, a refusal to accept the decline of the natural world. Iceland was brutal and beautiful, and it gave us a glimpse of what the world stands to lose. During the whole expedition, Dometic Gear has once again held up in the very harshest of conditions.”
Outdoor Innovation Supporting Extreme Exploration
Throughout the journey, Dometic’s rugged gear was essential to the team’s success. Designed for self-sufficiency and tough terrain, the equipment enabled the Wilsons to travel responsibly across Iceland’s unpredictable wilderness. Their mobile base camp was outfitted with:
- Dometic Portable Fridge/Freezer CFX5 75DZ
- PLB15 Portable Battery
- Soft Cooler Bags, Drinkware, and GO Shelter
- GO Water Jugs, Faucets, and Area Camp Light
- Cadac Gas Stoves and Pico FTC Inflatable Tent
- Front Runner Slimline II Roof Rack Kit
Peter Jannerö, Dometic’s Chief Marketing Officer, shared his pride in the project: “We are excited to unveil the global premiere of A Silent Rebellion in Australia. This project captures the essence of what we stand for. Our purpose is to empower more people to connect with nature and our products are crafted to thrive in the harshest of outdoor environments and withstand extreme elements. This unique durability not only supports everyday adventures, but also enables important expeditions like Project Zero Earth.”
A Call to Action for All Generations
For Kitalé Wilson, the journey was about more than landscapes and survival – it was about waking people up.
“Every step across Iceland felt like we were walking through a warning. Glaciers disappearing, unpredictable storms…it was clear the planet is changing faster than we think. A Silent Rebellion isn’t just a story of adventure, it’s a wake-up call. It’s about recognising what’s happening to our world and choosing to act, no matter who you are or where you live. We all have a part to play in protecting what’s left,” he said.
The film serves as a powerful reminder that climate action doesn’t require perfection – just participation. Through human storytelling, awe-inspiring footage, and tangible sustainability efforts, A Silent Rebellion inspires viewers to engage, reflect, and respond.
