Dragon Ball Squadra Overhauls Combat View, Adds Gogeta for Anniversary

LOS ANGELES – September 03, 2026 -- Bandai Namco Entertainment announced a major camera overhaul for DRAGON BALL GEKISHIN SQUADRA during a "SQUADRA Talk" livestream, shifting the free-to-play team fighter from a top-down view to a third-person, over-the-shoulder perspective by year's end.

The change, dubbed the Year-End Overhaul, aims to bring players closer to the action while simplifying win conditions. Chief Producer TOSHI and Producer KEN said the redesign builds on player feedback collected since launch, with strategic teamwork remaining central to the 4v4 battles.

Hero abilities and customization get a rework alongside the camera shift

The overhaul introduces new customization options, including "MAX Super Attacks" that players can equip in place of existing Super Attacks. Bandai Namco says further details on hero availability and how existing items and player data will carry over were shared during the livestream, with more information promised through the rest of 2026.

Season 7 launches September 9 with Super Gogeta joining the roster

The fusion warrior Super Gogeta headlines the game's first-anniversary season as a new hero. Android 19 joins as a new Helper for the Technical role, and San-Shinron enters as a new boss. Starting with Season 7, the boss lineup will rotate every two weeks.

Seven campaigns mark the anniversary, including up to 140 free G-Capsules

The "Open Up to 140 Capsules!" campaign resets daily across two periods, letting players earn five free G-Capsules per day. Additional rewards include the Anniversary Celebration G-Capsule, a 1st Anniversary Party Hat, Special Passes, and the GEKISHIN Rules Play Campaign, which starts September 9 with a special SP Cell Jr. appearing in matches. A Lucky Box Battle event will let teams collect boxes together for rewards.

Halloween-themed skin bundles, additional Special Passes, and in-game tournaments are planned for the second half of Season 7. The livestream also recognized RamGoat, representing the EU Region, as winner of the SQUADRA BLAST WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP 2026.

DRAGON BALL GEKISHIN SQUADRA is available now on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, PC via Steam, and mobile devices via the App Store and Google Play. Players with questions about the overhaul can submit them through the game's official Discord server.
