Free Docuseries 'In Jesus' Name' Takes On Real Catholic Exorcism

Birmingham – October 29, 2026 -- A free three-part docuseries about the Catholic rite of exorcism, "In Jesus' Name," premieres Oct. 28 at 4 pm ET on EWTN+ and EWTN.com, with new episodes on Oct. 29 and Oct. 30.

The series trades Hollywood horror for first-person accounts

EWTN Studios and Cumberland Creative produced the series. It features experienced exorcists and survivors of demonic oppression describing how, in their telling, evil enters human lives and how it can be overcome.

Father Dan Reehil, a diocesan exorcist in the Diocese of Nashville and national director of Radio Maria USA, says in the opening scenes that the goal is not to glorify or overly dramatize the devil's work. He describes it as education about spiritual warfare.

Three clergy members guide viewers through the rite

Reehil appears alongside Father Vincent Lampert, who served nearly 20 years as the designated exorcist for the Archdiocese of Indianapolis. Archbishop Jeffrey Grob of Milwaukee, a theological expert on the history of the rite, also contributes. Together they address the dangers of witchcraft, the occult and other flirtations with evil that pop culture often promotes as harmless.

The exorcists discuss their training, the meaning behind the rites they use and the emotional toll of the work. Men and women who experienced deliverance from spiritual oppression also appear, as do mental health experts.

Peter Gagnon, President of EWTN Studios, says the aim was to demystify the rite and show the Church responding in an authoritative but compassionate way. In his words, "the battle is real, but God's love is greater."

Episodes stream free on EWTN.com and the EWTN+ app

Viewers can watch on EWTN.com or through the EWTN+ app on SmartTVs. EWTN+ is free on EWTN.com, RokuTV, AppleTV, AmazonFireTV and GoogleTV.
