Baden-Baden – October 29, 2026 -- SWR's November lineup for ARD Mediathek, ARD Sounds and the ARD Twitch channel starts on November 5 with a documentary series about visibility. It ends with a three-part Sven Hannawald documentary on November 28 and a parasite documentary on November 30.
Documentaries open the month from November 5
The new season of "Der Junge Dokumentarfilm" arrives in ARD Mediathek on November 5. Its films follow people who want a place in public life, whether on the opera stage, on television or in Kosovo's young music scene. "Born to Fake" opens the season, followed by "Leben für die Oper - Primadonna or Nothing" and "Palace of Youth".
On November 8, the documentary "#unsereKinder - wie kinderfreundlich ist Deutschland?" follows. Germany ranks only 25th of 37 EU and OECD countries for child wellbeing. Presenter Felix Neureuther meets families and children who get no state support, face dangerous school routes or are banned from playing ball games. SWR flags that the release dates for this film and "Debüt im Dritten" were corrected.
Gamers get a Twitch event on November 8, 13 and 15. In "Meister und Mythen - Ein Bau die Burg Pen & Paper", set in 1493, a group of adventurers searches for a missing imperial master builder. Medieval expert Alexander Prinz, known as the Dunkler Parabelritter, supplies tips.
Debut films and comedy arrive from November 13
"Debüt im Dritten" returns on November 13 with five new films by up-and-coming directors. "Es geht um Luis" with Max Riemelt and Natalia Rudziewicz starts the season. "Tage mit Naadirah", "Milch ins Feuer", "Holy Meat" and "Im Rosengarten" follow.
The same day brings "Jossi", a culture-clash comedy. An ambitious actor named Wanja pretends to be Jewish to land a role with an American star director, then tries to hide the lie from actress Dana.
"Chamäleon" follows on November 19. After their father Johannes dies, 17-year-old twins Mia and Jakob refuse to accept suicide as the official cause and start investigating. The film was written by Frédéric Hambalek and directed by Dustin Loose.
ARD Sounds adds a mountaineering drama and a children's radio night
On November 25, the audio drama "Der unendliche Gipfel" joins the "Große Geschichten" feed in ARD Sounds. It tells of Dutch climbers Lenny and Walter, who go from practicing on a bridge to the Alps and the Himalaya. Walter's last summit stands at 8,188 meters, climbed without extra oxygen.
The ARD Kinderradionacht turns 20 on November 27 under the motto "Unzertrennlich" (Inseparable). Nine regional broadcasters air five hours of live programming about friendship from 8:03 p.m., in ARD Sounds or on SWR Kultur.
The month closes with a ski-jumping icon and parasites
"Being Sven Hannawald" starts on November 28 in ARD Mediathek. In 2002, Hannawald became the first to win all four events of the Four Hills Tournament. The three-part series traces his path from that hype through depression and the end of his career, with eyewitnesses and archive material.
On November 30, "Die Macht der Parasiten - Gefährlich und nützlich?" arrives in ARD Mediathek. Reporter Lena Ganschow talks with scientists about parasites, which likely cause more than one million deaths worldwide each year. The risks are also rising in Germany, even as researchers increasingly push to protect the organisms.
