SHERIDAN, WYOMING – June 30, 2025 – Audi has taken a major step forward in premium plug-in hybrid technology with the launch of its new Q5 SUV e-hybrid quattro and Q5 Sportback e-hybrid quattro, offering customers an exciting blend of electric range, performance, and everyday practicality. These latest additions to the Q5 family promise up to 100 kilometers of emission-free driving, setting new standards for efficiency and comfort.
Impressive Power and Electric Range
The Q5 e-hybrid models are available with two power options: 220 kW or 270 kW system output. Both variants pair a powerful 2.0 TFSI engine with an electric motor, allowing for smooth acceleration and dynamic driving. The 270 kW version can sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in just 5.1 seconds, while the 220 kW version achieves the same in 6.2 seconds. With a top speed of 250 km/h, these hybrids bring sporty excitement to the daily commute.
Thanks to a new high-voltage battery with a net capacity of 20.7 kWh—around 45% more than its predecessor—the Q5 e-hybrid can cover up to 100 kilometers in EV mode, perfect for city trips or short journeys with zero tailpipe emissions.
Intelligent Hybrid Management for Everyday Convenience
Audi’s hybrid management system is designed for flexibility and ease of use. Drivers can switch between “EV” mode for all-electric driving and “hybrid” mode, where the system optimizes energy use for maximum efficiency. A standout feature is the digital slider, which lets drivers preselect the desired charge level to save battery power for city driving later in the trip.
Regenerative braking has also been enhanced: energy recovery in overrun and braking modes can be adjusted across three levels using paddles on the steering wheel. This lets drivers customize the amount of energy recaptured during deceleration, boosting range and efficiency.
Comfort and Connectivity Redefined
Both the Q5 SUV e-hybrid and Sportback e-hybrid come with upgraded standard equipment that makes every journey more enjoyable:
- 220 kW versions include S sports suspension, 3-zone automatic comfort air conditioning, and the MMI experience plus infotainment system.
- 270 kW versions add LED headlights plus, LED rear lights pro, and stylish 19-inch light-alloy aero wheels.
Other thoughtful touches include the fully adjustable rear seat bench plus, which can slide and tilt to increase trunk space or rear passenger comfort, and practical charging solutions with AC charging power up to 11 kW—enough to fully recharge the battery in just 2.5 hours.
Spacious Interiors and Premium Features
Designed with families and daily drivers in mind, the Q5 SUV offers up to 1,358 liters of cargo space with rear seats folded, while the Sportback provides up to 1,300 liters. The cabin also features numerous storage options, a cooled wireless charging tray, and high-power USB ports—ideal for charging smartphones, tablets, or even laptops.
Available Soon Across Europe
The Audi Q5 SUV e-hybrid quattro starts at €63,400 in Germany, with the Sportback variant starting at €65,900. The high-performance 270 kW versions are priced from €71,800 and €74,300, respectively.
