BENTLEY MARKS SIXTH YEAR OF PROFITABILITY AS ELECTRIC FUTURE TAKES SHAPE WITH MAJOR SITE INVESTMENTS

SHERIDAN, WYOMING – April 6, 2025 - Bentley’s journey to a sustainable luxury future accelerates with robust profitability and bold investments

Bentley Motors has officially marked its sixth consecutive year of profitability, reinforcing its long-term commitment to luxury car craftsmanship and sustainability. The iconic British brand is paving the way for its first Battery-Powered Electric Vehicle (BEV), scheduled to debut in 2027, by launching a significant transformation at its historic Pyms Lane factory in Crewe.

Despite industry-wide challenges in 2024, Bentley posted an operating profit of €373 million with a 14.1% return on sales—its fourth-best performance in 105 years. The results highlight the company’s financial strength and strategic investments as it shifts toward electrification under its ambitious Beyond100+ strategy.

Strong performance fuels bold transformation

“Last year marked a milestone year in our transformation as we prepare for our electric future,” said Dr. Frank-Steffen Walliser, Chairman and CEO of Bentley Motors. “We are investing at levels never seen before at Bentley, as we not only revolutionise our product cycle plan, but also transform an 85-year-old site for a new age of electrification.”

Ground has been broken on a new BEV assembly line inside the site’s oldest building, A1. This marks the beginning of a cutting-edge facility designed to deliver digital, flexible, and high-value manufacturing capabilities—essential foundations for the luxury marque’s electric future.

This latest expansion complements recent upgrades, including a new Paint Shop—offering nearly 100 custom paint options—and the opening of the Excellence Centre for Quality & Launch. These facilities signal Bentley’s unwavering commitment to the UK as its manufacturing home, as well as its consumers who value customization and craftsmanship.

Customer personalisation reaches new heights

Customer preferences continue to shape Bentley’s performance, with personalisation proving to be a key growth driver. A record 70% of customers chose Mulliner bespoke options in 2024, driving the highest-ever revenue per car—up 10% over the last two years. Total revenue reached €2.648 billion, despite lifecycle-related volume adjustments.

“We have reached record levels of revenue per car, a well-balanced export strategy and a clear structure to maximise personalisation,” said Dr. Walliser. “This, added to a full year availability of our new plug-in hybrid Continental GT and Flying Spur models gives us a great deal of optimism and will have a significant, positive impact on our order bank and sales as we continue through the year.”

Luxury redefined: new models and hybrid evolution

2024 also marked a pivotal moment for Bentley’s flagship Continental GT model, which transitioned from its third to fourth generation. This change led to the phase-out of the iconic W12 engine and the introduction of a new ultra-performance V8 hybrid powertrain—first launched in the Speed and Mulliner derivatives of the Continental GT and Flying Spur.

Lower-powered versions of these hybrid models are set to roll out in 2025, promising broader consumer appeal and furthering Bentley’s electrification roadmap.

Driving toward an all-electric future

Bentley’s latest financial achievements and manufacturing upgrades are aligned with its Beyond100+ strategy. This forward-looking plan aims to make Bentley an all-electric luxury car brand by 2035, launching a new electric or hybrid model every year for the next decade.

Over the past six years, Bentley has demonstrated consistent growth and adaptability. Highlights include an exceptional 20.9% return on sales in 2022 and a remarkable revenue jump of 39% in 2021. Despite a slight dip in 2024 compared to peak years, the company’s long-term outlook remains strong.

A legacy of craftsmanship, reimagined for the future

Since its founding in 1919, Bentley Motors has built its reputation on handcrafted luxury and engineering excellence. Today, that legacy continues with over 4,000 skilled colleagues in Crewe, dedicated to designing and building five bespoke models: the Continental GT, Continental GT Convertible, Flying Spur, Bentayga, and Bentayga EWB.

As Bentley embraces new technologies and sustainable practices, its commitment to delivering the world’s most desirable high-performance grand tourers remains unchanged.
