SHERIDAN, WYOMING – Feb. 5, 2025 – DS Automobiles has announced that its new flagship model, the DS N°8, is now available to order. This groundbreaking electric vehicle offers a combined range of up to 750 km (WLTP cycle) and embodies a progressive approach to French coachbuilding.
A Model of “Aero Efficiency”
Inspired by the DS AERO SPORT LOUNGE concept, the DS N°8 represents the future of automotive design and a testament to the French Art of Travel. Its design prioritizes efficiency, featuring taut lines and meticulously crafted bodywork. Extensive wind tunnel testing, including the design of its large 740mm diameter wheels, has resulted in a remarkable 60 km range increase (WLTP) through optimized aerodynamics. This achievement was accomplished without sacrificing the vehicle's aesthetic appeal.
The DS N°8 boasts an innovative light signature, including the illuminated and aero-efficient DS LUMINASCREEN grille and headlamps comprised of three modules outlined by 8 LEDs in the Clous de Paris pattern. The front and rear DS LIGHTBLADE further enhance the car's visual presence and aerodynamic performance, making it instantly recognizable from over 100 meters away.
Up to 350 hp and 750 km of Range, Motors and Batteries Made in France
The DS N°8 offers three 100% electric drivetrains: 230 hp, 245 hp, and a top-tier 350 hp option featuring two motors and four-wheel drive. All electric motors are produced in Trémery, France, by Emotors, a joint venture in which the Stellantis Group is a shareholder. Each drivetrain also benefits from a temporary power boost, adding 30 hp to the FWD version (260 hp), 35 hp to the FWD Long Range version (280 hp), and 25 hp to the AWD Long Range version (375 hp).
The DS N°8 delivers impressive acceleration. The FWD version reaches 0 to 100 km/h in just 7.7 seconds, the FWD Long Range in 7.8 seconds, and the AWD Long Range in a mere 5.4 seconds. All versions have a top speed electronically limited to 190 km/h.
Two battery capacities are available, with NMC (Nickel-Manganese-Cobalt) cells produced in Billy-Berclau Douvrin, France. The 74 kWh battery powers the DS N°8 FWD (230 hp), while the 97.2 kWh battery is available in the FWD LONG RANGE (245 hp) and AWD LONG RANGE (350 hp) versions.
The DS N°8 FWD LONG RANGE achieves a combined range of 750 km (WLTP cycle) with a consumption of just 15.9 kWh/100 km, and an impressive urban range of 909 km (WLTP cycle). This exceptional range is attributed to a remarkable 0.24 Cx and an SCx of 0.63 dm². The combined WLTP ranges for the DS N°8 FWD and DS N°8 AWD Long Range are 550 km and 688 km, respectively.
For long journeys, the DS N°8's 160 kW charging capability allows for a 20 to 80% charge in just 27 minutes, adding 450 km of range. A 10-minute charge provides up to 200 km of range. For daily charging, the 11 kW on-board charger (alternating current) allows for an approximately 8-hour 50-minute charge (depending on battery capacity) from 20 to 80% using a standard 7.4 kW single-phase Wallbox. This time can be reduced to 6 hours with a three-phase 11 kW Wallbox. The DS N°8 features intelligent battery management, automatically stopping charging at 80% to optimize performance and battery life.

The DS N°8 redefines automotive luxury, blending technology and innovation with traditional craftsmanship. The interior embodies comfort, serenity, and French luxury. The dashboard's "Seamless Design" combines "High Craft" expertise with "High-Tech" advancements. Signature Clous de Paris embossed inserts, pearl stitching, and Nappa leather watchstrap upholstery further enhance the exclusivity of the interior.
A high-performance thermal glass roof fills the cabin with natural light, complemented by benchmark acoustic treatment for a first-class travel experience.
DS N°8 Features DS IRIS SYSTEM 2.0
The DS N°8 features DS IRIS SYSTEM 2.0, a next-generation multimedia system controllable via speech recognition or the 16-inch touchscreen. With increased memory and processing power, DS IRIS SYSTEM 2.0 provides a highly responsive and intuitive user experience. It includes a 3-year free access to the CONNECT PLUS PACK, offering connected services like ChatGPT and EV ROUTING.
The DS N°8 offers dynamic serenity through intelligent technologies. DS DRIVE ASSIST 2.0 enhances semi-autonomous driving with advanced lane change assist and PREDICTIVE ACC. Other notable features include DS PIXEL VISION headlights, DS ACTIVE SCAN SUSPENSION, NIGHT VISION, and a digital rearview mirror.
Range Structure: A Simplified Customer Journey
The DS N°8 is available in two specification levels: PALLAS and ÉTOILE.
The PALLAS trim offers a comprehensive equipment list, including DS IRIS SYSTEM with 3D connected navigation, wireless smartphone integration, keyless entry and start, parking sensors, regenerative braking, laminated acoustic glass, dual-zone climate control, and more.
The ÉTOILE specification adds the DS LUMINASCREEN grille, alarm, DS DRIVE ASSIST 2.0, DS PIXEL LED VISION, digital driver’s mirror, 360 Vision, and a hands-free power tailgate.
Two optional packs are available for each trim: the Tech Pack and Absolute Tech Pack for enhanced technology features, and the Comfort Pack and Absolute Comfort Pack for increased comfort and convenience.
Sustainability at the Heart of DS N°8’s Choice of Materials
The DS N°8 is available in five colors, including three new options: TOPAZ BLUE, PALLADIUM GREY, and ALABASTER WHITE, alongside CRYSTAL PEARL and PERLA NERA BLACK. A black roof or an extended DS bi-tone option is also available. The "Paintjet" technology used for the bi-tone bonnet is a world first in mass production, minimizing greenhouse gas emissions.
Interior harmonies include the new Eternal Blue, “DS Pearl Grey and Eternal Blue canvas”, “DS Basalt Black canvas”, and “Eternal Blue Alcantara®” settings, all predominantly made from recycled and animal-free materials. “Chestnut Brown Nappa Leather” and “Basalt Black Nappa Leather” settings are crafted from premium vegetable-tanned leather.
