SHERIDAN, WYOMING – July 11, 2025 – In a nostalgic and forward-looking celebration, FIAT and Abarth honored the 70th anniversary of the legendary Fiat 600 at the 43rd edition of the 1000 Miglia, blending automotive heritage with modern innovation in spectacular style.
A tribute to Italy’s postwar dream machine
The spotlight was on a rare, light-blue 1955 Fiat 600, first series, as it rolled proudly along the classic Brescia-Rome-Brescia route, echoing the spirit of an Italy eager to move forward after the war. Known for making mobility affordable and stylish, the 600 became a national icon—one that helped define a generation of freedom on four wheels.
This year’s 1000 Miglia, which took place from June 17 to 21, 2025, featured over 400 historic cars. FIAT’s participation paid homage not only to the car itself but also to Dante Giacosa, the genius designer behind the 600, whose 120th birth anniversary is also being celebrated in 2025.
Empowering presence with an all-female crew
Bringing fresh energy and empowerment to the celebration, the 1955 Fiat 600 was driven by an all-female team: Laura Confalonieri, Assistant Director of Ruoteclassiche, and Valentina Menassi, journalist and contributor to Il Giornale. Both are seasoned professionals and passionate advocates of classic cars. Their participation symbolized the ongoing inspiration the Fiat 600 brings to every generation.
Modern muscle meets classic charm
To showcase the legacy and evolution of the Fiat 600, FIAT and Abarth joined the route with contemporary “Support Cars” — the Fiat 600 Hybrid and the Abarth 600e — acting as a modern bridge to the vehicle’s heritage.
- Fiat 600 Hybrid: This sleek update to the beloved classic pairs a new T-gen3 turbocharged engine with a dual-clutch automatic transmission, delivering comfort and efficiency. It features:
- Five-door design and seating for five
- Spacious 385-liter trunk plus 15 liters of in-cabin storage
- Ambient chromotherapy lighting and a built-in massage seat
- Fuel consumption as low as 4.8 L/100 km
- Abarth 600e: Dubbed the most powerful Abarth ever, the 600e Scorpionissima packs a punch with 280 hp and a 207-kW electric motor, sprinting from 0 to 100 km/h in just 5.85 seconds. It's a bold statement of Abarth’s motorsport DNA and electric future, supported by Stellantis’ cutting-edge technology.
Celebrating legacy and looking ahead
The 1000 Miglia 2025 brought together past and present in a meaningful way, with a “figure-eight” route inspired by the race’s earliest editions. The event reaffirmed why the Fiat 600 remains a cherished symbol of Italian ingenuity and why its story still resonates.
As FIAT and Abarth continue to shape the future of mobility, the celebration of the Fiat 600 serves as a powerful reminder that heritage and innovation can indeed travel hand in hand.
