Fiat Grande Panda Makes Global Debut with Electric and Hybrid Powertrains, Taking on the B-Segment

SHERIDAN, WYOMING – Jan. 29, 2025 –The Fiat Grande Panda, the first model of a new global family, has been unveiled, marking the brand's return to the B-segment. This segment holds historical significance for Fiat, with over 23 million vehicles sold across Europe in past decades. Built on a global multi-energy platform, the Grande Panda caters to customers worldwide, embodying Fiat's global presence within Stellantis.

An Italian Design Inspired by an Icon

Designed in Turin at the Centro Stile, the Grande Panda draws inspiration from the iconic Panda of the 1980s. Its compact size, measuring 3.99 meters in length, is below the segment average, yet it comfortably accommodates five people. The design features clean lines, a well-organized interior, and a robust appearance, emphasizing strength and uniqueness.

"The Panda from the 80s is living a second life in a modern era thanks to the new model, showcasing a cool personality with iconic features and its Italian signature from the Centro Stile in Turin," says a Fiat spokesperson.

The Grande Panda's distinctive features include PXL LED lamps, reminiscent of the classic 1980s video game, and a variety of vibrant exterior colors like Limone yellow and Passione red, reflecting Fiat's "No Grey" initiative.

Compact Outside, Roomy Inside

Despite its compact size, the Grande Panda boasts impressive interior space, offering ample shoulder room and smart storage solutions. The trunk provides a generous 361 liters of capacity in the electric version, making it ideal for families and everyday needs.

The interior design features cheerful details like yellow accents on the infotainment area, dashboard, and seats, creating a joyful atmosphere. The 10-inch cluster and 10.25-inch digital radio display a unique style inspired by the Lingotto track and the iconic cube-shaped windows of the Lingotto factory.

Grande Panda: Electric and Hybrid Powertrains

The Grande Panda is available in both electric and hybrid versions. The electric version features a 44 kWh battery and an 83 kW e-motor, delivering a WLTP combined range of 320 km. It achieves a maximum speed of 132 km/h and accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 11 seconds.

"With the electric version of the Fiat Grande Panda, FIAT prioritized one of its essential values: affordability," states a Fiat representative. "The electric features of the new model allow the brand to offer a cool but affordable vehicle to those who want to take part in the electric transition."

The Grande Panda is the first car on the market to include an integrated, retractable charging cable, simplifying the charging process. It also offers fast charging capabilities, reaching 80% charge in just 27 minutes using a 100 kW DC station.

The hybrid version combines a turbo 1.2-liter, 3-cylinder engine with a 48-volt Li-ion battery and a 6-speed eDCT transmission. This configuration delivers 100 HP and an estimated CO2 output of 123g, making it a competitive option in the market.

Sustainable Materials and Production

The Grande Panda showcases Fiat's commitment to sustainability. In an automotive first, aluminum and plastic components from beverage cartons are recycled and incorporated into the blue plastic interiors. Each car utilizes recycled material from 140 beverage cartons.

Furthermore, the Grande Panda La Prima features "BAMBOX Bamboo Fiber Tex®," an innovative textile containing real bamboo fibers, for the dashboard wrapping. This marks another milestone in Fiat's pursuit of sustainable materials.

Two Trims for the Electric Version, Three for the Hybrid

The electric Grande Panda is available in two trims: the top-of-the-range La Prima and the (Grande Panda)RED, starting at less than €25,000. The (Grande Panda)RED expands Fiat's partnership with (RED), the organization combating AIDS and pandemics.
