GM Launches New Rewards Mastercard® with More Ways to Save on Vehicles, Services, and Experiences

SHERIDAN, WYOMING – June 6, 2025 – General Motors is taking loyalty to the next level with the launch of its redesigned GM Rewards™ program and the brand-new GM Rewards™ Mastercard® from Barclays. The initiative makes it easier than ever for drivers to earn and redeem points across GM’s family of brands while enjoying exclusive perks tailored to their lifestyle.

Flexible Rewards That Fit Everyday Life

The GM Rewards™ Mastercard® is designed to seamlessly integrate into consumers’ daily purchases, turning ordinary spending into extraordinary value. Whether it's groceries, gas, or travel, cardmembers earn points that can be redeemed toward their next Chevrolet, Buick, GMC, or Cadillac vehicle — or even upgrades and services for their current ride.

Benefits include:

  • 30,000 bonus points after spending $1,000 in the first 90 days
  • Up to 10x points on eligible GM purchases
  • 3x points on other purchases like dining, fuel, and travel
  • Unlimited point earning with no caps or blackout dates
  • A 9-month introductory low APR on qualifying GM purchases over $499

“GM has led the U.S. automotive industry in loyalty for a decade, and now we’re rewarding both our new and existing members with easier access to savings opportunities and new ways to engage with us,” said Ralph Darmo, VP of loyalty programs at GM. “Additionally, we’re creating exciting member-exclusive experiences that only GM can provide – such as trackside access at racing events and off-the-grid EV excursions. Cardmembers can use the new GM Rewards Mastercard to earn GM Rewards points from everyday purchases like food, shopping and travel. And you can redeem GM Rewards points towards your next vehicle, for accessories or features to upgrade your vehicle, and for services.”

Unlocking Even More Value with Barclays and Mastercard

The new card is issued by Barclays US Consumer Bank and backed by the Mastercard World Elite platform, offering both prestige and practical value. The card is part of Barclays’ growing portfolio of co-branded partnerships.

“We’re proud to partner with GM and Mastercard to deliver a credit card that puts real value in customers’ hands,” said Denny Nealon, CEO, Barclays US Consumer Bank. “With industry-leading rewards and flexible redemption options, the GM Rewards Mastercard makes every purchase more rewarding for GM customers across the U.S.”

“Mastercard is thrilled to partner with GM and Barclays in offering exciting benefits tailored to cardmembers’ lifestyles,” added John Levitsky, Co-President, United States for Mastercard. “The GM Rewards Mastercard provides convenience and security through the power of our network, while unlocking valuable benefits that enhance the cardmember experience on and off the road.”

Expanded Loyalty Benefits for More Consumers

Available to all GM Rewards members — including new participants — the updated loyalty program eliminates many previous restrictions and offers:

  • 3x points per $1 spent on eligible GM purchases
  • 1 point per $5 spent on new or certified pre-owned GM vehicles
  • No redemption limits or vehicle exclusions
  • Points that can be gifted or transferred to others
  • Integration with employee, dealer, and supplier discounts
  • Redemption for digital services, exclusive events, and GM Financial balances

Starting August 25, 2025, current cardholders will receive the updated Barclays-issued GM Rewards Mastercard with instructions for activation. And later this year, GM and Barclays will introduce the GM Business™ Mastercard® for business customers, promising even higher rewards and expanded features.

A Smarter Way to Drive and Save

From everyday essentials to exciting automotive upgrades, the new GM Rewards Mastercard makes loyalty feel like luxury. With flexible earning, exciting redemptions, and member-only perks, drivers have more ways than ever to make the most of every mile.
