Honda Dominates Car and Driver 10Best Awards, Securing Wins for Civic, Accord, and CR-V

SHERIDAN, WYOMING – Jan. 13, 2025 – For the third consecutive year, Honda has proven its automotive excellence by securing three coveted Car and Driver 10Best awards. The Honda Civic, Accord, and CR-V have each earned a spot on the prestigious list, solidifying Honda's position as a leader in the automotive industry.

Honda's Winning Streak

Honda's continued success in the Car and Driver 10Best awards is a testament to the brand's commitment to innovation and quality. With a total of 95 awards since the program's inception in 1983, Honda has earned more 10Best trophies than any other brand. This year's wins mark the 39th time the Accord has received the award, the 11th for the Civic, and the 6th for the CR-V.

A Commitment to Electrification

"Winning three prestigious Car and Driver 10Best awards for the third year in a row speaks to the passion our Honda engineers and production associates pour into these products for our customers," said Jessika Laudermilk, assistant vice president of Honda Auto Sales. "We're pleased that electrifying Civic, Accord and CR-V has been received so well because it is a promising sign as we head into the electrified future."

A key factor contributing to Honda's success is its dedication to electrification. The Civic, Accord, and CR-V all offer hybrid variants that deliver impressive fuel efficiency without compromising performance. In fact, over 50% of Accord and CR-V sales are currently hybrid models, with Civic hybrid projected to reach 40% of Civic sales.

Hybrid Technology that Delivers

These hybrid models are equipped with Honda's advanced two-motor hybrid system, which optimizes efficiency while enhancing driving dynamics. "The new hybrid model maintains the handling and practicality all Civics enjoy, boasts the best fuel economy numbers in the lineup, and it's as quick as the performance-oriented Si," summarized Tony Quiroga, Editor-in-Chief of Car and Driver.

The Rigorous 10Best Selection Process

Earning a spot on the Car and Driver 10Best list is no easy feat. Vehicles must meet stringent criteria, including being all-new or significantly updated, having a base price under $110,000, and being available for sale by January 31, 2024.

Car and Driver editors rigorously evaluate over 80 eligible vehicles over a two-week period, assigning each a score from zero to 100. The scores are then tallied and averaged to determine the 10Best Cars and 10Best Trucks and SUVs.

Made in North America

Furthering their commitment to local production, all three winning Honda models are built in North America, using domestic and globally sourced parts. The Accord is manufactured at the Marysville Auto Plant in Ohio, while the Civic Hatchback is produced at the Honda Indiana Auto Plant. The CR-V is built in three North American plants: the East Liberty Auto Plant in Ohio, the Indiana Auto Plant, and Honda of Canada Mfg.
