SHERIDAN, WYOMING – July 9, 2025 – Kia America is celebrating a major milestone as it posts the highest first-half sales in its history, signaling strong consumer confidence in the brand’s lineup of stylish, tech-forward, and electrified vehicles.
The company sold an impressive 416,511 vehicles in the first six months of 2025—an 8 percent jump over the same period last year. Notably, retail sales soared 12 percent year-over-year, setting a powerful tone for the rest of the year.
Record-Setting Models Drive Growth
Kia’s upward momentum was largely driven by the standout performances of four key models—Carnival, Telluride, Sportage, and the all-new K4—all of which achieved their best-ever first-half sales. These customer favorites are winning over drivers with their blend of comfort, capability, and next-gen features.
- Carnival sales surged 57 percent
- Telluride climbed 15 percent
- Sportage increased 9 percent
- K4 rose 7 percent
Other models like the K5 and Sorento also impressed, with the K5 up a whopping 170 percent and Sorento gaining 9 percent year-over-year.
Surging Demand for Electrified Options
Kia's electrified and hybrid vehicles saw skyrocketing demand, with hybrid sales alone up 70 percent compared to the same time last year. Sedans and SUVs also saw meaningful growth—29 percent and 9 percent, respectively—highlighting Kia’s ability to appeal to a wide range of driver needs.
“In the face of uncertain market conditions, Kia delivered a record-breaking first-half sales performance, a milestone made possible by the continued interest from consumers in our well-designed, technologically advanced lineup,” said SeungKyu (Sean) Yoon, president and CEO of Kia North America and Kia America. “Our core models including Carnival, Telluride, Sportage, and K4, continue to set sales records. Coupled with the steady sales growth generated by our electrified and hybrid models along with the continued rollout of the 2026 EV9 Nightfall Edition and the newly introduced EV9 GT-Line featuring a two-tone roof, we expect this positive sales trajectory to continue. In the second half of 2025 Kia will remain agile in our response to changing market conditions and steadfast in our commitment to delivering products and services that meet the expectations of US consumers.”
