SHERIDAN, WYOMING – July 24, 2025 – Kia is charging ahead in the electric vehicle market with the all-new EV4, a fully electric compact hatchback designed specifically for European drivers and built in Europe for the very first time. This sleek new model combines modern style, generous space, cutting-edge technology, and an attractive starting price — aiming to win over consumers ready to embrace e-mobility.
Built for Europe, Designed to Stand Out
Despite the SUV trend dominating many markets, compact cars remain highly popular across Europe — particularly in Germany, where nearly one in five new registrations in 2024 belonged to this segment. Kia is responding to this demand with the EV4, a 4.43-meter-long hatchback that turns heads with its bold, expressive design.
The EV4 introduces a fresh look to the traditionally conservative C-segment. Its low nose, stretched silhouette, and Kia’s signature “Opposites United” design philosophy give it a dynamic presence. Inside, the floating user interface and asymmetrical steering wheel blend inspiring aesthetics with enhanced functionality, while passengers enjoy a spacious cabin and a generous 435-liter trunk.
Impressive Range, Quick Charging, and Modern Driving Comfort
Consumers can choose between two battery options — 58.3 kWh or 81.4 kWh — offering up to 625 km of range on a single charge (440 km with the smaller battery). Both versions support fast charging from 10 to 80 percent in around 30 minutes, perfect for busy urban lifestyles.
Comfort and drivability are also at the forefront. A refined suspension system and optimized front-wheel drive geometry ensure a smooth, agile ride with excellent cornering stability. The advanced regenerative braking system includes the intuitive “i-Pedal 3.0” mode for one-pedal driving — even in reverse.
Smart Tech and Generous Standard Features
Even in its base configuration, the EV4 is packed with premium features designed for modern drivers:
- Kia’s new ccNC infotainment system with video streaming
- Panoramic display with 12.3" digital cluster and navigation screen
- Climate touchscreen (5.3") and automatic air conditioning
- Rear-view camera and parking sensors
- Kia Connect online services with real-time updates
- A full suite of advanced driver assistance systems
“The EV4 is a fully electric alternative to the Kia best-seller Ceed,” said Thomas Djuren, Managing Director and COO of Kia Germany. “With its bold design and dynamic proportions, its innovative, spacious interior, comprehensive connectivity, long range, fast charging, and, not least, its agility and driving dynamics, the EV4 has the potential to excite drivers of ‘classic’ compact cars for electric mobility.”
Connected, Comfortable, and Ready for the Future
Depending on trim level, the EV4 offers features like the “Vehicle-to-Load” function (V2L) for powering 220V devices, and V2X hardware preparation (V2H/V2G) to integrate the vehicle battery with home or public power grids. Premium extras include a head-up display, digital car key, and luxurious relaxation seats.
Thanks to over-the-air (OTA) updates and Kia’s 7-year map and software update program, the EV4 stays up to date without a dealership visit. The model comes standard with Kia’s 7-year factory warranty and an 8-year battery warranty (up to 160,000 km), reinforcing its long-term value.
