SHERIDAN, WYOMING – October 25, 2024 – The New Lancia Ypsilon, the first car of the new era of the brand manufactured at the Spanish plant of Saragoza, triumphed yesterday at the second edition of the Prisa Motor Awards, a prestigious annual gathering organized by one of Spain’s most important media groups, which includes, among others, the daily paper El País and the Cadena SER radio network. The prize ceremony was held at the Hipódromo de la Zarzuela racecourse in Madrid, and Olivier Quilichini, Stellantis Premium Cluster Director for Spain and Portugal, received the award from Dani García, editor of Icon, the Grupo Prisa design, lifestyle, and men’s fashion magazine and website.
“Receiving this award, only a few months since the Lancia Renaissance began, is a source of great pride for us. This recognition testifies that New Lancia Ypsilon opens up new paths in the automotive design, maintaining the timeless elegance so unique for the brand. This prize is as well the best way to bring us back to the attention of the Spanish public in the country where the car is manufactured. The first car in the brand's new era will be available in Spain in hybrid and electric versions with a comprehensive, versatile and efficient range, consisting of three trim levels. By 2025, Spain will have a distribution network formed by 20 showrooms, together with 30 after-sales service points all located in major Spanish cities.” stated Charles Fuster, Head of Marketing & Communication for the Lancia brand.
The New Lancia Ypsilon leads the premium hatchback B-segment, with its iconic lighting signature, parking assist, dual 10.25” display with a segment-leading total display area, and Level 2 autonomous driving, all as standard. The first car in the brand's new era manufactured in the Stellantis Saragoza plant will be available in Spain in both hybrid and electric versions with a comprehensive, versatile, and efficient range, formed by three trim levels.
The Event was founded by Grupo Prisa, one of Spain’s main media companies, with the ambition to establish an annual gathering, celebrating both talent and innovation in a key sector for the Spanish economy and society. At the event, the New Lancia Ypsilon returned to Spain for the first time since its official presentation to the market in July. The first New Lancia Ypsilon units will be delivered to customers in Spain from the last quarter of 2024.
