LAS VEGAS – November 02, 2026 -- HayesX is taking reservations for the HayesX-250, a single-seat electric vertical takeoff and landing aircraft, at a listed price of $146,600. The aircraft makes its public debut at the 2026 SEMA Show, held Nov. 3-6 at the Las Vegas Convention Center.
The HayesX-250 folds down to fit a pickup or trailer
The aircraft takes off and lands vertically, so it needs no runway. Four folding arms shrink it to approximately 4.25 feet by 9.1 feet for transport in a suitably sized pickup or trailer.
It weighs 245 pounds including batteries and has a published top speed of 62 mph. The chassis is aviation-grade aluminum, combined with carbon-fiber components.
Eight motors and a ballistic parachute provide the safety net
HayesX built safety around layered redundancy. The aircraft carries eight electric motors, dual power and control buses, and dual inertial measurement units. An integrated whole-aircraft ballistic parachute system is also included.
Owners also get the HayesX Pilot Support App, which bundles an interactive flight guide, a digital logbook and a pre-flight checklist.
FAA Part 103 design means no pilot certificate in the US
The HayesX-250 is designed to comply with FAA Part 103. In the United States, an FAA pilot certificate is not required to operate a vehicle that qualifies under that rule. Operators must still follow all applicable operating restrictions, airspace rules and local requirements.

Attendees can inspect the aircraft and meet the HayesX team at the booth. A product unveiling and press conference runs Wednesday, Nov. 4, from 10:30 to 10:50 a.m.
CEO and co-founder Ciaran Hayes said the aircraft is meant to make personal flying "more accessible, exhilarating and practical to own." HayesX is bringing the aircraft into the automotive aftermarket, and the company ties the launch to the 250th anniversary of the United States.
A $6,600 deposit reserves a 2026 delivery slot
A $6,600 deposit secures an order and is refundable within six days. HayesX is accepting a limited number of orders for 2026 delivery, subject to availability and final configuration.
