Hangzhou – September 10, 2026 -- Hoymiles has launched its V2X DC Charger, a device that lets electric vehicles feed power back into a home's energy system, marking the newest addition to the company's residential energy ecosystem alongside its HiOne All-in-One battery storage system.

The charger turns parked EVs into backup generators

Through bidirectional charging, the V2X unit supports Vehicle-to-Home (V2H) mode, supplying emergency power to a household when the grid goes down. Its Vehicle-to-Grid (V2G) function allows homeowners to participate in peak-load reduction programs and virtual power plant schemes. The device includes an EU MID-certified meter for accurate energy tracking.

Direct DC charging cuts energy loss and charging time

Unlike AC-coupled chargers that rely on a vehicle's onboard charger for DC/AC conversion, the V2X charges directly from solar panels and battery storage to the EV in DC form, bypassing that conversion step and reducing energy loss. With a charging capacity of up to 22 kW, the unit adds roughly 110 km of range per hour of charging, compared to about 35 km per hour with a conventional AC charger. Hoymiles says the charger is compatible with 95% of electric vehicles currently on the market.

Built for outdoor installation near parking spots

Designed as a standalone unit, the V2X can be installed flexibly, including next to a parking space, giving homeowners more freedom in placing the HiOne battery system elsewhere in their setup. The charger carries an IP65 protection rating against dust and water, plus IK10 impact resistance for outdoor durability.

One app now controls solar, storage, and EV charging

The V2X integrates into the same app Hoymiles uses for its other home energy products, letting users monitor and manage solar generation, battery storage, and EV charging from a single interface. Users can switch between a green-energy mode and a fast-charging mode depending on their needs.
