ISTANBUL – October 14, 2026 -- Lassa has introduced two new winter tyres for the 2026 season: Snoways 5 for passenger cars and Competus Winter 3 for SUVs. Snoways 5 is sold in 46 sizes from 15 to 21 inches, and Competus Winter 3 in 42 sizes from 16 to 21 inches. Both carry Lassa's EV Ready marking, so they suit electric and hybrid vehicles as well as conventional cars.
Snoways 5 improves snow and wet grip over its predecessor
Compared with the previous model, the new pattern delivers better snow, wet and wear performance, according to the source, and independent TÜV testing validated those gains. Snoways 5 has also earned the TÜV Performance Mark for key winter and wet handling criteria.
TÜV SÜD reports that the tyre beats the competitor average in snow acceleration, snow braking, lateral snow grip, aquaplaning, wet braking and lateral wet grip. It also has lower rolling resistance and moves up one level on the rolling resistance label. The biggest gains are roughly 4% better aquaplaning performance and 3% improvements in both snow acceleration and lateral snow grip.
Competus Winter 3 adapts the new design for heavier SUVs
Competus Winter 3 takes the pattern design and technical features of Snoways 5 and adjusts them for larger, heavier vehicles. Lassa says it offers confident braking and controlled handling on snowy and wet roads, along with enhanced snow performance, improved wet-road performance and greater fuel efficiency.
Lassa's expanded range covers 84% of European fitments
Lassa cites growing demand for larger rim sizes, driven by the popularity of SUVs and the changing vehicle parc, as the reason for the expansion. With the new line-up, its coverage of European passenger car and SUV winter tyre fitments is set to reach 84%. Coverage of fitments of 18 inches and larger will rise to 75%.
Snoways 5 and Competus Winter 3 will be available across Lassa markets during the 2026 winter season.
