Plano, Texas – September 22, 2026 -- Segway has launched the MUXI Pro, an upgraded short-tail cargo e-bike retailing for $1,999.99 and available now at authorized US dealers and store.segway.com.
The Pro adds a faster class and new hardware
The original MUXI gets a 9-speed electronic auto-shifting drivetrain, letting MUXI Pro reach a pedal-assisted top speed of 28 mph and qualify as a Class 3 e-bike, subject to local laws. A front suspension fork with 70 millimeters of travel, turn signals, and standard front and rear fenders round out the upgrades. Buyers can choose from two new colorways, Anthracite and Reef Blue.
A 750-watt motor delivers 80 Nm of torque
Segway paired the motor with what it calls Adaptive Assist and Algorithm 2.0, aiming for smooth, natural-feeling pedal assist rather than jerky starts. The bike offers up to 73 miles of range. Hill Descent Control, Regenerative Braking, Hill-Start Assist and a Traction Control System are designed to help riders manage heavy loads on slick or loose surfaces.
Optional accessories let riders customize cargo and passenger capacity
A new Passenger Kit ($119.99) includes a seat, foot pegs and wheel guards, and can carry a second rider up to 120 pounds. The Middle Basket ($129.99) and Front Basket ($99.99) from the original MUXI also fit the Pro. Additional add-ons include Segway's Xiro Automatic Dropper Post ($229.99), Rearview Radar ($99.99) and e-Bike Rearview Mirror ($29.99).
Security features carry over from Segway's Intelligent Ride System
MUXI Pro includes Apple Find My and AirLock proximity locking, a Lost Mode that can remotely disable the bike or battery if stolen, over-the-air update support for six systems, a full-color HD TFT display, and automatic headlights. Heather Henderson, Segway's senior brand manager, said the Pro model builds on features riders already loved about the original MUXI while adding elements meant to make rides feel more comfortable and confident.
