Shanghai – October 15, 2026 -- Twenty gaming monitors from Lenovo's Legion line and HKC's ANTGAMER brand are among the first to earn TÜV Rheinland's new Native Gaming Performance Certification, which rates displays from three to five stars.
The standard was officially launched at the 23rd China Digital Entertainment Expo & Conference (ChinaJoy) in July 2026. It targets a familiar problem: higher refresh rates and shorter advertised response times do not necessarily mean clearer, more stable visuals, especially when those specs rely on overclocking, undisclosed reductions in display quality or compromises in stability.
Overclocked refresh rates are excluded from certification
The framework defines three refresh-rate operating modes: native, overclocked and dual-mode. It applies a "same mode, full-system testing" principle, and refresh-rate overclocking is excluded from certification.
Fourteen indicators feed a single gaming score
Products are evaluated across three dimensions: motion performance, image quality and visual comfort. Fourteen indicators are assessed under them. Weighting factors differ for competitive, immersive and all-around gaming scenarios. The weighted results are summed into a Gaming Performance Index (GPI), which is converted into a three- to five-star rating.
The method also includes human-factor studies: dynamic visual acuity assessments, eye-tracking analysis and first-person shooter gaming tests. These turn subjective gaming experiences into quantifiable data on perceived motion clarity.
Sixteen Lenovo Legion monitors earn three to five stars
Lenovo's 16 certified Legion monitors span entry-level to flagship models.
- 5 stars (4): Legion 27Q-10 OLED, Legion Pro 27Q-10, Legion Pro 27UD-10, Legion Pro 32UD-10
- 4 stars (7): Legion 34W-2c, Legion 32Q-2C, Legion 27U-10, Legion 27U-20, Legion 27QD-10, Legion 27Q-20, Legion 27Q-2c
- 3 stars (5): Legion 27Q-10, Legion 27-2c, Legion 27-1r, Legion 25-10, Legion 24-1r
George Toh, Vice President and General Manager of Visuals Business at Lenovo's Intelligent Devices Group, said the range of ratings shows the portfolio can meet the needs of gamers at every level.
Four ANTGAMER monitors receive the top 5-star rating
HKC's ANTGAMER brand, an esports label, earned 5 stars for the ANT25ASF, ANT255TQ, ANT275TQ and ANT272TUE. The models cover FHD, QHD and UHD resolutions and are aimed at professional esports players, dedicated gaming enthusiasts and premium entertainment users.
TÜV Rheinland promises ongoing checks on certified products
