Apple Creator Studio Adds Cinematic Editing and New Templates

Worldwide – – October 21, 2026 -- Apple Creator Studio subscribers get new editing tools, templates and collaboration features, including Cinematic mode effects for video shot on iPhone 18 Pro and edge-refinement controls in Pixelmator Pro for iPad.

Final Cut Pro lets editors adjust Cinematic focus after the shoot

Final Cut Pro and Motion on Mac can now apply Cinematic mode effects to video captured natively on iPhone 18 Pro. Editors can change focus points and depth of field directly in the Final Cut Pro timeline. Compressor converts video with Cinematic mode effects back into the previous Cinematic mode format and adds new HEVC and MPEG-4 export presets for social sharing.

Pixelmator Pro brings Select and Mask to iPad

The iPad version gains Select and Mask from Mac, with dedicated controls for refining masks and selections. It can preserve fine detail along complex edges such as hair or fur. On Mac and iPad, Pixelmator Pro adds two template collections: one for sports and action-packed projects, and one for launching a creative idea, business or product. A new Podcasts category offers cover artwork sized for major podcast platforms.

Keynote, Pages and Numbers get templates, smarter slides and new functions

Subscribers receive new templates and themes in all three apps. Keynote's intelligent slide generation now creates images tailored to a presentation. Users can request access to a shared presentation, document or spreadsheet. Pages for Mac adds Screen View for reading and focused writing, and Numbers adds trigonometry, statistics and logic functions.

Freeform adapts to Dark Mode and organizes boards into folders

Boards now adapt automatically to Dark Mode, and folders let users group boards into collections and invite others to collaborate. Writing Tools with Apple Intelligence can rewrite, proofread and summarize handwritten notes. Users can also request access to shared files or automate adding content with Shortcuts.

In visionOS 27, Freeform users can pull multiple items from a board into their space, including images, videos, sticky notes, shapes and 3D models. They can also view 3D models together as a group.
