Cupertino – October 21, 2026 -- Apple Home Collection, a new lineup of smart cameras, thermostats, temperature sensors, a video doorbell and a door lock, goes on sale starting in December, with select accessories following in early 2027. Apple designed the products with LG Electronics and Schneider Electric. Each one sets up with a single tap on an iPhone and runs entirely in the Apple Home app, with no separate app or account.
Four LG cameras store video in iCloud+ instead of a subscription
LG supplies a Video Doorbell, Floodlight Cam, Outdoor Cam and Indoor Cam. Every camera records up to 2.5K video and recognizes people, familiar faces, pets, vehicles and packages. Footage goes to the user's iCloud+ plan, so there is no separate camera subscription. Each camera keeps 10 days of event history, and a home hub such as HomePod, HomePod mini, Apple TV 4K or Apple HomeView is required.
The doorbell has two cameras: a 2.5K front camera for visitors and a full HD bottom camera for packages. The Indoor Cam tilts up to look around only when users check in, then tilts back down when the first household member returns. Built-in storage keeps recording if Wi-Fi drops.
LG's Smart Deadbolt unlocks as you walk up
The lock uses Ultra Wideband to sense when a user with a home key on a compatible iPhone or Apple Watch approaches, and it unlocks without a tap. Other options include tap-to-unlock, a PIN pad and a hidden backup key slot. Guest access can be shared through the Home app. The lock is Matter compatible, supports Aliro and works locally, so core functions continue without internet.
Paired with the doorbell, it lets users see a visitor, speak to them and unlock the door from one view or by asking Siri.
Two Smart Thermostats adjust to who is home
LG Electronics and Schneider Electric each make a Smart Thermostat. Adaptive Temperature uses on-device intelligence from iPhone to adjust heating and cooling when someone is home, winding down at night or away. In the contiguous U.S., Clean Energy Guidance can shift usage to cleaner, lower-cost periods for users with a compatible utility plan. Both thermostats and the standalone temperature and humidity sensors are Matter compatible, DIY-friendly and use on-device wire detection to simplify installation.
Every device supports Thread and updates Wi-Fi credentials automatically
Thread helps devices stay connected if Wi-Fi drops, and products update their network credentials automatically when a customer changes home Wi-Fi. A single "Good Morning" scene can adjust the thermostat, tilt an indoor camera down and start music on HomePod.
Camera footage and personal data in the Home app are end-to-end encrypted and inaccessible to LG Electronics, Schneider Electric or Apple.
