Frankfurt – – September 21, 2026 -- Creality has launched the SPARKX i8, a multi-color 3D printer, on Indiegogo at a super early-bird price of $289, well below its planned $399 MSRP.
A single toolhead replaces bulky multi-nozzle systems
The i8 uses Creality's QuarTeks Color Change System, which packs four independent filament channels into one compact toolhead instead of requiring multiple toolheads or external filament swapping. Filaments are pre-loaded directly into the quad-channel head.
Color switches happen in under one second
Near the nozzle tip, the shared filament path measures less than 1 mm, or roughly 2 mm3, which Creality says is at least 30 times shorter than shared paths common elsewhere in the market. That short path cuts retraction, feeding and purging time, letting the printer switch color channels in under a second.
Lab tests show a 500% speed gain over external-feed printers
In Creality's internal test of building a four-color tower requiring 3,000 color switches, the i8 finished in around 18 hours -- five times faster than printers relying on external feed systems.
Purge waste and prime towers are effectively eliminated
Under optimal slicing settings, color transitions get flushed directly into a model's infill or inner walls, reducing external purge waste to 0 grams beyond a small amount used at startup. The printer also skips separate prime towers by routing color-change travel into the model's infill paths, while a dedicated clean wall keeps surface colors from bleeding.
Four base colors can generate up to 32 combinations
The i8 supports CMYK-style layered color printing, mixing four base-color filaments across layers to produce intermediate tones and gradients. Creality states this can yield 16 to 32 color combinations from just four spools in a single print, though the company notes this layered mixing does not guarantee exact color matching.
Thirteen sensors monitor the print in real time
An AI vision camera and 13 built-in sensors track all four filament channels and switching mechanisms, flagging issues like empty spools, filament runout, or air printing. The standalone unit also supports automatic filament refill across up to four spools of the same material, switching automatically when one runs out.
Early backers get shipping refunded
The campaign's first 1,000 backers within 24 hours qualify for a refund of shipping and taxes worth up to $50, limited to one unit per backer. Units are scheduled to ship from the factory in October, with delivery expected in November depending on region and Q4 logistics.
