Boston – October 15, 2026 -- MacPaw's new AI assistant Eney is available now for Mac and iPhone, free to try for 14 days with 10,000 AI credits. It watches your apps, files and calendar, prepares the next step and waits for your approval before it acts.
Eney is built for people whose days fill up with chasing documents, catching up on threads or prepping for calls. According to MacPaw, it needs no complicated setup or AI know-how.
Eney asks before it sends, changes or moves anything
MacPaw's own research of US Mac users (July–August 2026) found that 81% had used an AI tool in the previous three months, but only 39% said AI was embedded in how they work. Eney is designed around that gap: proactive, never autonomous. By default it asks before sending a message, changing an event or moving a file, and users decide how much it can do alone.
MacPaw founder and CEO Oleksandr Kosovan describes it as "a careful colleague" rather than a chatbot.
Eney offers meeting notes without a bot in the call
When a call starts in any app, Eney offers to transcribe it. Afterward it drafts meeting notes, action items and a follow-up invitation for your approval.
Eney Wand acts on anything on your screen
Press Option-W and drag over any content. Eney can translate text in place, convert a price, turn a date into a calendar event, copy text out of an image or blur what shouldn't be shared.
Eney connects to Apple and third-party apps
It works with Apple Mail, Calendar and Reminders out of the box. It also connects to Gmail, Google Calendar, Google Drive, Slack, Notion, Jira and Linear, with new connectors added regularly.
Other features include:
- Copy-based suggestions: copy something and Eney offers a summary, a currency or time-zone conversion, or a translation.
- Ready-made workflows: Morning Brief, Plan My Day and Weekly Review run on demand or on a schedule.
- Mac care: warnings about low disk space, memory pressure and crashing apps, with suggested fixes. Nothing moves until you confirm.
- Eney Spell: spelling, grammar and wording fixes in Mail, Slack, Notes or the browser.
- Voice or text: double-tap Option to open Eney anywhere. It works in eight languages, including English, German, Spanish, French, Italian, Polish, Brazilian Portuguese and Ukrainian.
Eney runs on MacPaw's own memory layer
Eney is the first product powered by MacPaw's own AI stack. At its core is Mnemos, a memory layer that updates a fact when you correct it or it goes out of date, and shows when an answer draws on something remembered. Mnemos manages only Eney's own memory and never reads or changes your files or other apps.
Eney requires macOS 15 or later
Eney is available for Mac at eney.ai and for iPhone on the App Store. Users can also sign in with a Setapp account, though Setapp membership isn't required. Setapp sign-in uses Setapp AI credits, which appear in Settings > Usage.
