Pexar's New Thunderbolt 5 Dock Has a Built-In Touch Screen

Berlin – September 12, 2026 -- Pexar, a smart device brand powered by Lexar, has launched a Kickstarter campaign for the PexarBolt Ultra TBT5 Dock, a Thunderbolt 5 docking station with a built-in 5-inch touch control dashboard, priced at an early-bird rate of $479 before rising to a retail price of $649.

A dashboard replaces guesswork on your desk
The dock's 5-inch touchscreen displays real-time connection status, transfer activity, storage information, power readings on supported ports, and temperature and fan status for every connected device. A precision metal dial allows tactile navigation, and an 'AI Status' feature lets users approve or reject requests from supported AI coding agents directly from the dock.

The dock packs 22 ports into a single cable connection
A single Thunderbolt 5 cable links all 22 ports, including a 10GbE port, a CFexpress Type B slot, SD and microSD UHS-II card readers, and a PCIe Gen 4 x2 M.2 NVMe SSD slot for adding local storage. Two downstream Thunderbolt 5 ports plus DisplayPort 2.1 or HDMI 2.1 support multi-display setups up to dual 8K at 60Hz or triple 4K at 144Hz.

Thunderbolt 5 delivers up to 120 Gbps for display-heavy work
The dock provides up to 80 Gbps of bidirectional bandwidth, with a Bandwidth Boost mode pushing transmit bandwidth to 120 Gbps for display-intensive workflows. A thermally controlled cooling system tracks fan speed in real time and channels airflow through a dedicated internal path to maintain performance under sustained use.

Charging covers laptops, phones, and tablets
The Thunderbolt 5 host port supports up to 140W of USB PD 3.1 charging for compatible laptops, while two front USB-C ports share up to 45W for phones, tablets, and other accessories. The aluminum enclosure is designed to add stability and assist with heat dissipation.

The dock has already picked up an industry award
The PexarBolt Ultra TBT5 Dock was named a 2026 IFA Innovation Awards Honoree in the Content Creation Technology category. Wilson Chen, Founder of Pexar, said the dock was built to make every port, transfer, and watt on a desk visible in real time.

The dock is compatible with both macOS and Windows systems and launched on Kickstarter on September 8.
