Berlin – September 08, 2026 -- TCL introduced its new P80 smartphone series at IFA 2026, expanding its mobile lineup with three models aimed at different consumer priorities: photography, display comfort, and everyday affordability.
The series includes the TCL P80 Ultra, TCL P80 Pro, and TCL P80. Building on the NXTPAPER-AMOLED display technology first shown at MWC 2026, TCL has brought this screen tech to the two higher-end models, combining AMOLED's color and contrast with NXTPAPER's glare and blue-light reduction features.
The P80 Ultra debuts a 50-megapixel periscope telephoto camera
TCL calls the P80 Ultra its most advanced smartphone to date. It features a 50-megapixel 3x periscope telephoto camera with optical and electronic image stabilization (OIS + EIS), designed for sharper zoomed shots of distant subjects, portraits, and street scenes. The camera system also includes a 50-megapixel main sensor (1/1.56-inch) with OIS and EIS, an 8-megapixel autofocus ultra-wide camera, and a 32-megapixel front camera for selfies and video calls.
The P80 Pro balances display, camera and battery life
The TCL P80 Pro pairs a 1.5K NXTPAPER-AMOLED display with a 5800mAh battery and storage options up to 512GB, according to TCL. Storage configurations and battery performance may vary by market and usage conditions.
The standard P80 targets budget-focused buyers
The base TCL P80 rounds out the lineup with a slim design and a 1.5K AMOLED display, positioned as an affordable option for users focused on core daily functions rather than premium camera or display features.
Stefan Streit, Chief Marketing Officer at TCL Europe, said a modern smartphone should help people move easily between capturing distant moments, reading during commutes, handling work tasks, and enjoying entertainment, while still making it easier to disconnect when needed.
TCL says the P80 series draws on 27 years of experience in mobile communications as the company works to make higher-end smartphone technology more accessible to a broader range of consumers.
Pricing, availability, colors, and accessory options for the P80 series will vary by market and sales channel, TCL said.
