TrustKernel's Thumb-Sized PlugClaw Turns Any Device Into a Private AI Computer

London – September 08, 2026 -- TrustKernel has begun shipping PlugClaw worldwide, moving the device from pre-order to general availability starting at €128 / US$149, with no subscription required. The company also opened free confidential-model inference on newly deployed servers.

The device is a full computer packed into a USB-C stick.

PlugClaw measures 50 × 19 × 8 mm and weighs 15 grams, built around a MediaTek Helio G80 processor, up to 6 GB of memory, and 128 GB of encrypted storage. It runs PlugOS, a privacy-hardened Android system, alongside Ubuntu as the agent runtime, and works across Android, iPhone, iPad, Windows, Mac, Linux, and HarmonyOS.

Plugging it into any screen turns that device into an AI workstation.

The host phone, tablet, or PC only supplies the display and input; the AI agent, its apps, credentials, and working data run entirely inside PlugClaw's own environment. No administrator access to the host is required, and the agent cannot reach the host's photos, documents, or accounts.

PlugClaw runs OpenClaw with added GUI and Android-Use layers.

This lets the agent open apps, reply to messages, organize files, and complete multi-step tasks on its own. TrustKernel says most AI agents today require full device permissions to function, which has led to public incidents of agents overstepping and exposing user data; on PlugClaw, any fallout stays contained to the stick itself.

Frontier AI tasks are processed inside a hardware Trusted Execution Environment.

When a task needs a more powerful model, the request is handled in a cloud-based TEE that neither the cloud provider nor TrustKernel can read. In preview testing, users chose the confidential model option over a cheaper non-confidential alternative far more often, prompting TrustKernel to deploy dedicated servers offering free confidential inference.

Buyers can use their own API keys or preinstalled models.

The hardware purchase is one-time with no subscription fee, and comes with US$15 in credits for use with bring-your-own-key setups or built-in models. Review units are available on request from TrustKernel.
