Orlando, Fla. – September 25, 2026 -- U-wifi will begin offering affordable, and potentially free, home internet plans to consumers starting October 1, 2026, through a new Mobile Virtual Network Operator agreement with T-Mobile.
The partnership targets households left without support after the FCC's Affordable Connectivity Program expired. That program had provided a $30 monthly internet subsidy to 23 million eligible households before it ended, widening the digital divide in low-income communities.
U-wifi will run its service over T-Mobile's nationwide 5G network
The company's patent-pending platform will deliver wireless broadband to underserved communities, low-income households, students, seniors, veterans, and families affected by the loss of ACP benefits. Plans are designed for telehealth users, job seekers, SNAP participants, and other budget-conscious households.
An ad-supported app can reduce or erase monthly bills
U-wifi's FreeUTM platform lets subscribers earn credits toward their service by voluntarily watching ads, with the potential to eliminate their internet bill entirely. The company also offers ProtectUTM, described as a first-of-its-kind consumer 5G failover solution that provides backup internet connectivity when a household's primary connection drops.
"Internet access is no longer optional — it's essential infrastructure," said Donald Workman, CEO at U-wifi. He said the initiative aims to restore affordable connectivity for communities left behind after ACP funding expired.
Dirk Mosa, T-Mobile's SVP of Spectrum, Wholesale & Roaming, said the carrier is committed to keeping more people connected by making reliable internet accessible without sacrificing speed.
U-wifi's gateway device requires no professional installation
The company's compact gateway plugs into a standard electrical outlet and automatically connects to the strongest available 5G signal in a given area. U-wifi says it will release further details on market availability and eligibility requirements in the coming weeks ahead of the October 1 launch.
