San Francisco – October 29, 2026 -- Wabi, a personal AI assistant designed for couples, families and friends to use together, has raised $55 million at a $1.25 billion valuation, with apps available now on iOS, Android and Mac.
IVP led the round. Andreessen (a16z), Forerunner and Amazon Alexa Fund also took part, along with angels and founders including Tobi Lütke, Marc Benioff, Marissa Mayer, Dick Costolo and Alex Pall. The company says the money will go toward product development and expansion.
Wabi targets groups instead of one person in one chat
Wabi comes from Eugenia Kuyda, who previously founded the AI companion platform Replika. Most AI assistants are built for a single person typing into a single chat. Wabi is built around people doing things together: a book club planning a themed night, a running group choosing a weekend route, or a family sharing the load of running a household.
The product combines an AI agent, personalized mini-apps and shared spaces. Kuyda says she wants Wabi to become "an operating system for life."
Mini-apps turn one-off chats into tools people keep using
The mini-apps are meant to be revisited and adapted over time. Couples can keep a running list of restaurants to try and check them off together. Families can build a weekly meal plan that converts into a grocery list. Friends can create trivia games for milestone birthdays or trackers for a book club.
Wabi also handles routine tasks, including coordinating family schedules, helping children with homework, booking appointments and planning trips.
Early users run fitness challenges and plan date nights
Since launch, friends have used Wabi to discover new bands based on shared musical tastes, run 30-day fitness challenges and check in on each other during hard times. Couples have used it to plan date nights. Individuals have built routines around personal goals and used it for step-by-step guidance through a breakup.
Alex Lim, General Partner at IVP, said Kuyda has a vision for AI interaction that goes beyond the text box or command line. Anish Acharya, general partner at a16z, said his firm has backed her since the pre-seed stage.
Wabi is available for download on iOS, Android and Mac, with Windows coming soon.
