Miami – September 15, 2026 -- Avianca has rolled out Business Class Americas across 100% of its routes within the region, giving travelers on international and select domestic flights in Colombia, Ecuador and Guatemala access to a premium cabin that previously wasn't available network-wide.
Economy passengers now get a free 22-pound carry-on on every international fare
Under its "More for Everyone" initiative, Avianca is including a 22-pound carry-on bag on all international fares, including U.S. routes. The airline has also added complimentary food and beverages on international Americas flights lasting longer than 3.5 hours, on top of its existing Café del Cielo onboard sales service.
Business Class Americas seats sit in the first three rows with added perks
Customers in the new cabin get priority ground services, access to Avianca and Star Alliance lounges, extra baggage allowance and LifeMiles accrual, with onboard service adjusted to flight length. The expansion complements Avianca's long-haul INSIGNIA cabin, giving travelers between the U.S. and Latin America a premium option across the carrier's entire regional network.
Avianca carried 2.57 million U.S. passengers in the first half of 2026, up 9.2%
The airline currently runs more than 400 weekly flights and 41 routes between the United States and South and Central America. Wi-Fi is being progressively added across the fleet, alongside an expanded Avianca On Air entertainment lineup featuring HBO Max, Sony Entertainment, Warner Bros., A24, Paramount, Formula 1 TV and LEGO content.
A redesigned INSIGNIA cabin with private suites arrives in 2027
Avianca will introduce its next-generation INSIGNIA by Avianca cabin on flights to Europe -- Madrid, Barcelona, London and Paris -- and on Boeing 787 New York flights starting in 2027. The new cabin will feature private suites with sliding doors, fully lie-flat seats with 180-degree recline, pajamas designed by Maaji and Meridian noise-canceling headphones.
On Bogotá-to-Europe flights, passengers will receive Mola Sasa amenity kits made with artisans from the Chimichagua community, paired with Loto del Sur products. Chefs Álvaro Clavijo and Rafael Buitrago have created a renewed onboard menu inspired by Latin American flavors, served with updated tableware.
A new check-in service at Bogotá's airport targets top-tier loyalty members
Avianca has launched INSIGNIA by Avianca Check-In at El Dorado International Airport for INSIGNIA passengers and LifeMiles Diamond and Magno members. The carrier is also renewing its 12 VIP lounges across Colombia, El Salvador and the United States with new gastronomy, wellness and design concepts. The newly introduced Magno status, LifeMiles' top tier, includes unlimited lounge access for members and up to four guests, Fast Track at select airports, priority pre-boarding and select Business Class upgrades.
