Día de Muertos Escapes at Marriott's All-Inclusive Resorts in Mexico

Miami – October 21, 2026 -- Travelers who want a last-minute fall trip can spend Día de Muertos at six All-Inclusive by Marriott Bonvoy resorts in Mexico, with programs running from Isla Mujeres to Los Cabos. Celebrations take place throughout late October and early November.

Isla Mujeres adds wellness to Mayan tradition

Almare, a Luxury Collection Resort, Isla Mujeres, Adult All-Inclusive, centers its program on Hanal Pixán, the Mayan celebration honoring loved ones who have died. Guests get storytelling, local rituals and traditional culinary experiences inspired by Yucatán Peninsula customs.

Wellness sessions include a cold plunge, a scrub workshop and a sound bath. Food activities include sugar-skull making, a Day of the Dead bread-baking workshop and tamal preparation.

Marriott Cancun hosts a November 1 parade

On November 1, Marriott Cancun, An All-Inclusive Resort, holds an evening at Casa Madre Restaurant. A traditional Hanal Pixán ceremony comes first, followed by a parade with mojigangas and Catrinas.

Riviera Nayarit packs the schedule for families

Delta Hotels by Marriott Riviera Nayarit, An All-Inclusive Resort, offers sugar-skull decorating workshops, jewelry-box crafting and other arts-and-crafts activities for younger guests. Evenings bring movie nights, live music and karaoke.

Los Cabos pairs altars with Sea of Cortez views

Hacienda del Mar Los Cabos, An Autograph Collection All-Inclusive Resort, overlooks the Sea of Cortez and stages an Enchanted Day of the Dead Celebration. It includes festive décor, traditional altars, live entertainment and authentic cuisine, plus Pan de Muerto-inspired dishes.

Riviera Maya resorts split between kids' workshops and quiet elegance

At Royalton Splash Riviera Cancun, An Autograph Collection All-Inclusive Resort, Kids Club workshops let children build their own altars and paint Catrinas while learning the symbolism behind the holiday. Face painting, themed pool activities and traditional music run through the resort. The menu features Pan de Muerto, tamales and atole.

Paraiso de la Bonita, a Luxury Collection Resort, Riviera Maya, Adult All-Inclusive, takes a more intimate approach. Altars adorned with cempasúchil flowers anchor the celebration, alongside chef-led dishes inspired by seasonal flavors. Live entertainment and specialty programming at the Piano Bar complete the schedule.
