EPCOT – October 24, 2026 -- Figment, EPCOT's purple dragon, is getting a new journey into imagination at the park, and he is finally reunited with Dreamfinder.
Disney Experiences Chairman Thomas Mazloum announced the project in the closing moments of the Disney Experiences showcase at D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event presented by Visa. "We are taking a new journey into imagination at EPCOT with Dreamfinder and Figment!" he told the cheering crowd. More details about their return are still to come.
Figment has been an EPCOT fixture since 1983
The dragon arrived when the first Journey into Imagination opened in 1983. The attraction has gone through several versions since, and Figment has stayed a park staple throughout.
Guests can meet him in the Imagination! pavilion, and he appears on a large amount of EPCOT and festival merchandise. He has been the focal point of the EPCOT International Festival of the Arts since its inaugural season in 2017. His latest resurgence began with a viral novelty popcorn bucket in 2022.
Dreamfinder led Journey into Imagination for 15 years
Dreamfinder debuted in the original attraction in 1983 and stayed at its center until 1998. The cheerful inventor and storyteller acted as creator, mentor and friend to Figment. He guided guests as they collected sounds, colors, ideas and anything else that sparks the imagination.
Fans still remember him for the adventures he shared with Figment and for the feeling he inspired: that imagination is worth holding onto at any age.
