Flying Blue Named Best Airline Rewards Program Again

New York – October 29, 2026 -- Air France-KLM Flying Blue has been ranked the world's best airline rewards program for the third year in a row, according to point.me's 2026 report. The award travel search platform scored 33 leading loyalty programs using more than 250 million award fares from its own pricing data.

Flying Blue wins on availability, partners and earning

Flying Blue took first place for award availability, partner opportunities and ease of earning. United MileagePlus finished second, with the best redemption experience of any program and the top mark for customer service. Air Canada Aeroplan placed third and was runner-up in availability, partners and earning.

The rest of the overall top 10: Alaska / Hawaiian Atmos Rewards, American Airlines AAdvantage, Qatar Airways Privilege Club, JetBlue TrueBlue, British Airways Club, Virgin Atlantic Flying Club and Cathay Pacific Asia Miles.

Regional leaders span four markets
  • Americas: United MileagePlus first, Air Canada Aeroplan second
  • Europe: Flying Blue first, British Airways Club second
  • Asia & Oceania: Cathay Pacific Asia Miles first, with Japan Airlines Mileage Bank and Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer tied for second
  • Middle East: Qatar Airways Privilege Club first, Emirates Skywards second
Eight categories decide the scores

Each program was judged on ease of earning, redemption rates, partner opportunities, redemption experience, award availability, award holds, customer service and change fee policies. point.me combined quantitative and qualitative data as of August 1, 2026, then calculated an overall score for each program.

point.me CEO Adam Morvitz said a great program is one where travelers can find a seat at a sensible price, book it easily and change plans if needed.

Credit cards increasingly unlock the best awards

The report found airlines reserving their best award pricing and availability for members who hold the airline's credit card. It cites a reported $8.2 billion that American Express paid Delta in a single year. According to Morvitz, United now steers most of its Polaris business saver space to cardholders and elites, Delta takes 15% off award tickets for premium cardholders, and JetBlue rebates 10% to 15% on redemptions. "The card in a traveler's wallet increasingly decides what they can book and what they pay," he said.

Partner space shrinks and free changes are rare

Partner award space is shrinking as airlines steer premium inventory to their own members. Only three programs in the report offer free changes and cancellations on all award tickets. The others charge fees of up to $150 or restrict refunds in some way.

Benjamin Lipsey, President of Flying Blue Miles, said the program carries the strength of Air France, KLM and Transavia beyond the flight, wherever members travel and spend.
