Kauaʻi – – October 02, 2026 -- Hilton has opened Hale Hōkūala Kauaʻi, Curio Collection by Hilton, a 210-room lifestyle resort marking the brand's first property in Hawaiʻi. The resort overlooks Nāwiliwili Bay and Kalapakī Beach within the Hōkūala Resort community, near Līhuʻe Airport.
The property includes 23 suites with private lānais and floor-to-ceiling windows offering views of the Pacific Ocean, Hāʻupu Mountain and the Ocean Course at Hōkūala. Designed by Hart Howerton and AHL, with interiors by Looney & Associates, the resort was built among existing monkeypod and banyan trees.
A Portuguese-Hawaiian menu anchors the signature restaurant
Figueira, overlooking the 18th hole of the Ocean Course, is billed as Kauaʻi's only Portuguese-Hawaiian dining concept. Executive Chef Hans Lentz and Director of Food & Beverage Romina Migliorini lead a menu featuring Pineapple French Toast with Kuleana Rum caramel, Kauaʻi prawns, Portuguese Fisherman's Stew, bacalhau no forno, pastel de nata and malasadas. A separate poolside venue, The Wiliwili at Hale Hōkūala, serves poke bowls, plate lunch specials and shave ice. Both concepts were developed by StiR Creative Collective, Hilton's in-house food and beverage consultancy.
A cultural program partners with the Kauaʻi Museum
The resort's cultural immersion initiative, E Ala Ka Pilina, was developed with local practitioners, historians, artisans and nonprofits. The Kauaʻi Museum serves as the inaugural partner for programming exploring island history, with future sessions planned on agriculture, lei making, traditional aquaculture and hula.
"Hale Hōkūala builds on that legacy with a resort that reflects the rich culture and spirit of Kauaʻi while offering travelers a truly unique way to experience the destination," said Danny Hughes, president, Americas, Hilton.
Guests get preferred access to golf, trails and bicycles
On-site amenities include a pool, fitness center, and access within the Hōkūala community to a full-service spa, tennis and pickleball courts. Guests receive preferred tee times at the Jack Nicklaus Signature Ocean Course at Hōkūala, plus access to more than five miles of trails and complimentary bicycles. The resort also offers over 14,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor event space for meetings and weddings.
To mark the opening, Hale Hōkūala is offering a Kaua'i Island Escape package with 25 percent off the hotel's best available rate for stays of three nights or longer. The property participates in Hilton Honors and expands Hilton's presence to nearly 30 hotels across the Hawaiian islands.
