Hilton's First Canadian Credit Card Launches Oct. 29

TORONTO – October 29, 2026 -- The Hilton Honors American Express Card, Hilton's first co-branded credit card in Canada, launches on October 29, 2026 with a $150 annual fee and 6X points on purchases at Hilton properties. American Express Canada and Hilton announced the card as the next step in a partnership that has lasted more than 70 years.

Hilton says Hilton Honors membership in Canada has grown by more than 40% since 2023. Cardmembers can use points across Hilton's portfolio of 28 brands and more than 9,600 properties worldwide.

Cardmembers earn up to 6X points per purchase

The earning structure has three tiers:

  • 6X Hilton Honors Points on eligible purchases at Hilton properties
  • 4X points on eligible gas, grocery and dining purchases in Canada
  • 2X points on all other eligible purchases
Gold status comes with the card, and Diamond is within reach

Every cardmember receives complimentary Hilton Honors Gold Status. On eligible stays, that includes bonus points, a daily food and beverage credit or continental breakfast (varies by brand and region), space-available room upgrades, digital check-in and complimentary Wi-Fi.

Spending $40,000 on the card in a calendar year upgrades cardmembers to Hilton Honors Diamond Status. Diamond adds executive lounge access, a 48-hour room guarantee and 100 percent more points on eligible Hilton stays.

Spending $12,000 a year unlocks 50,000 bonus points

Cardmembers who spend $12,000 in a calendar year can earn 50,000 bonus Hilton Honors Points annually.

Reward stays have no blackout dates or resort fees

Reward stays carry no blackout dates, and stays booked entirely with points carry no resort fees. Cardmembers can also combine points and money toward a booking. The Fifth Night Free benefit applies to eligible reward stays booked entirely with points.

American Express adds presale access and travel insurance

Cardmembers also get American Express Member Benefits, Front Of The Line Presale access, travel insurance coverage and 24/7 Global Assist services.

Supplementary cards cost nothing extra on top of the $150 annual fee.
