June Kleier and Julie Shotmeyer, both advisors with Global Travel Collection (GTC), must build a personalized luxury trip that reflects the couple's interests and personalities. The prize is the chance to win the couple's future travel business.
The episodes cover Belgium, including Brussels, where filming took place at Corinthia Brussels, the restored former Grand Hotel Astoria. Kleier and Shotmeyer approach the same destination in different ways.
Kleier points to chocolatiers, Art Nouveau landmarks and two Brussels neighborhoods
Kleier highlights private tastings with master chocolatiers, behind-the-scenes access to Art Nouveau landmarks, and the Sablon and Marolles neighborhoods. Her itineraries blend storytelling with deep destination knowledge.
Shotmeyer is a former first-grade teacher who now designs luxury trips. She says a great advisor knows which experiences are worth your time, where to stay and what to reserve before you arrive.
Advisors arrange access that is hard to find alone
According to GTC, advisors draw on destination knowledge, trusted relationships and an understanding of their clients. That lets them arrange private cultural encounters and exclusive access that can be difficult to discover independently. GTC President Angie Licea said the competition gives viewers "a glimpse of the expertise that goes into creating an exceptional trip."
