Museum of Illusions Opens in Downtown Sacramento Nov. 6

Sacramento – October 16, 2026 -- Museum of Illusions Sacramento opens November 6 at 405 K Street, Suite 110, with general admission starting at $30 for adults and buy-one-get-one-free tickets available before opening day.

The 10,000-square-foot museum is the brand's 72nd location worldwide and its third in California, after San Diego and Santa Monica, which both opened in 2025. It is the chain's first venue in Northern California.

Over 70 hands-on exhibits invite visitors to test their own eyes

Guests can try more than 70 exhibits and attractions, including Building Illusion, Following Eyes and Reverse Room. Each is built so visitors experience the illusion themselves and learn how the eye and brain interpret what they see.

Several signature exhibits draw on Sacramento's Gold Rush history. CEO Kim Schaefer pointed to Gold Rush-era storefronts built to look grander than they were, and said families, friends and coworkers can "step inside an illusion together and leave with a story and a photo to match."

Two ticket offers cut the cost of an early visit

Through November 5, the Book Early Offer gives buy-one-get-one-free tickets to guests who buy online. Once doors open, the Grand Opening Offer takes 20% off tickets for the first four weeks, from November 6 through December 4.

Pricing and hours are set for weekdays and weekends

General admission is $30 for adults and $26 for children ages 5-12. The museum is open Sunday through Thursday from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., and Friday and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.

Illusion Experts on site help guests capture the best photo at each exhibit and explain why their eyes are being deceived.
