San Francisco – September 15, 2026 -- The Ritz-Carlton, San Francisco will open Bruma, a new cocktail lounge, on October 12, 2026, inside the hotel's 1909 Neoclassical building on Nob Hill.
The lounge takes its name from the Spanish word for "mist"
Bruma draws its concept from San Francisco's fog, Nob Hill's residential character, and the city's history as a Pacific port. The room is designed to shift mood throughout the day, moving from afternoon tea traditions to late-night conversation, with the cocktail menu changing alongside it.
The cocktail menu is split into four themed sections
Drinks are organized into World's Edge (citrus-forward), Open Water (globally influenced), Golden City (California seasonal, fruit-driven), and High Ground (spirit-forward Martinis and stirred classics). Signature offerings include a tableside Martini chilled with liquid nitrogen and a reimagined Nob Hill Pisco Punch topped with pineapple brûlée.
Food menu features Dungeness crab and Wagyu smash burgers
The food program includes a Dungeness Crab Roll, Wagyu Smash Burger, California Poke Bowl, and warm Japanese Milk Bread with cultured seaweed butter, alongside rare spirits and a full spirit-free, low-ABV menu. The food and beverage program was developed with Lowder-Tascarella Hospitality (LTH).
Design firm Fettle modeled the space on historic Nob Hill mansions
Fettle's design references grand residences like the Leland Stanford Mansion, incorporating a custom mural, a hand-etched églomisé back-bar mirror, and the hotel's original fireplace. The color palette includes aged brass, deep ocean navy, espresso brown, soft blush, and antique parchment.
Weekly programming includes jazz nights and a Latin fusion band
Bruma will host Golden Hour Aperitivo on Wednesdays and Thursdays from 4 to 6 p.m., Friday Night Live Jazz from 7 to 10 p.m., and Latin Fusion Band Saturdays from 7 to 10 p.m. Annual events will include a designated "Bruma Season" and a Dungeness crab celebration.
The lounge seats 80 guests at 600 Stockton Street
Bruma is located within The Ritz-Carlton, San Francisco at 600 Stockton Street. Hours and reservation details will be announced closer to the October opening.
